2. What are the routines and procedures that I need to establish before, during and
after my classes?
✓ Entering and exiting classroom. Students must fall in line when entering the
classroom, likewise in exiting. This routine will be beneficial to ensure that students
follow the health protocols and avoid unwanted occurrences.
✓ Greetings and classroom management. Upon the teacher enter in the classroom,
students must stand up quietly and greet the teacher. Class will be started through a
prayer, followed by the checking of attendance. Ask also whether everyone is feeling
great. If we notice that the classroom has been disorganized, we shall have a minute or
two for the students to organize their seats and pick litters in their places. Sanitary
hygiene, at least spraying of alcohol, must be given importance, too for protection of
everybody.
✓ Classroom organization and cleanliness. The whole class will be divided into 5
groups. Each group will be given a respective assignment to maintain the cleanliness
and organization both inside and the surroundings of the classroom. Students will be
advised to clean the classroom before and after their classes.
✓ Going out for necessities signals and behavior. Before the class starts, the teacher
will let first the students to go for necessities so that everyone and everything are
settled to avoid disturbances and interruptions during discussion. But when
discussion is going on, students must first raise their hands and if being recognized,
politely ask permission to go out for necessities. On the other hand, when students
are having a seatwork, the students should quietly stand from their seat and approach
the teacher if they can go out for necessities.
✓ Checking of attendance and turning in of assignments. The class secretary will check
the attendance before the class starts and note students who are not able to attend
class. Moreover, there should be a systematic and orderly procedure in passing
homework or performance task. Students should pass their works forward and the
front row should collect and pass the papers to the teacher. An alternative to this is
assigning student leaders to collect the works at the desired time in order to make
things better and systematic.
✓ Recitation and sharing of ideas. If the students want to recite, they must raise their
hands and wait for the opportunity to be recognize. When their name is called, they
must stand properly and share answers and insights. Encourage them to avoid
hesitation to answer and practice speaking in front of the class.
✓ Practice of good communication and collaboration. Student's must create a good
bond and relationship with their classmates and teachers. They should practice a
friendly and helpful attitude toward each other especially in achieving their learning
competencies.
✓ Presentation of group outputs and activities. In this situation, students must present
their group outputs and activities in a clear and well-ordered manner. Each group
will choose a representative to discuss their outputs. All members of a group must be
given the chance to explain and present the group outputs. In that manner, everyone's
confidence will be built up and get used to speaking in front of a crowd.
✓ Breaktime rules. When the bell rungs, students must wait for the teacher to dismiss
them and quietly leave the classroom. They are allowed to eat snacks inside the
classroom, considering that it is not during classes. Students must put their waste in
the proper trash bin.

3. What verbal and non-verbal communication will I use to signal those students need
help/attention in the classroom?
A simple calling of their names or pointing on them will do. But some teachers
do the silent treatment as a sign that students need to behave.
4. How must students get/secure the needed work materials and books and often in the
classroom?
As for books and learning materials, students are advised to get them from the
shelves one by one to avoid chaos and unwanted noises. The modules for the next
meeting or week are distributed by the teacher to the students after the discussion of the
module at hand. This will help them have an advance reading during weekends and
have a background or better understanding of the lesson. They will bring this module
every time they go to school. The students will be answering the activities and
assessment found in the module.
5. How will students transition to group work and other cooperative activities in the
classroom?
For the students to be able to work together efficiently and effectively, grouping
them together with their seatmate or classmate near them (e.g., by row or by column) is
the most convenient way rather than grouping them through counting because this will
consume a lot of time since there is a chance that their groupmates are far from them.
Moreover, grouping the students by row or column can be more organized as it is easier
for them to form a circle during their group discussion.
Before the class starts, the teacher will let first the students to go for necessities
so that everyone and everything are settled to avoid disturbances and interruptions
during discussion. But when discussion is going on, students must first raise their
hands and if being recognized, politely ask permission to go out for necessities. On
the other hand, when students are having a seatwork, the students should quietly stand
from their seat and approach the teacher if they can go out for necessities.
7. What rules must be set for students who finish task early and for those who cannot
complete the work on time?
⚫ The rules will depend on whether the activity is a seatwork or a take home
activity. For seatwork, those students who are done with their work earlier than
the set time, they are advised to review and proofread their work to check any
possible mistakes. As for those who cannot pass on time, there should be a
deduction in their score.
⚫ For take home activities or group projects, those who will pass earlier than the
said deadline will be given additional points in their scores. On the other hand,
students who cannot submit on time should provide a valid reason for the failure
to meet the deadline. If it is something reasonable, we should try to give

considerations for them. But when reasons are invalid, we should not tolerate
them and give what is due to them. If we tolerate those kinds of acts, it will be
something that they will be used to do.
10. What procedures must be employed in movements into and out of the classroom?
Students should enter and exit the classroom without running and pushing to avoid
hurting and bumping each other. They should avoid crowding when going out of the
door They should make a line (if possible) in order to ensure an orderly process in
entering and exiting the the classroom. Slamming the door should also be prohibited.
Having these guide questions in mind, complete the matrix for the routines that your
resource teacher has employed before, during and after classes in the classroom to
ensure order and discipline in your classes. List down the problems which your
resource teacher has encountered while implementing these routines.
• Irresponsible students
• Inconsistency
• Hardheaded students.
• impolite students
• uninterested students
Laziness and procrastination are prone to students which result to unfinished school
works and mediocre outputs. They tend to forget or worse, they just leave their
responsibility undone. Another thing is that students are inconsistent when it comes to their
habits and behavior. Instructions are not followed although it is repeatedly given and
discussed to them. Also, some students are just behaving at first but when they get
comfortable, they become disrespectful.

1. What factors/ conditions prompted you to establish those classroom routines and
procedures?
Yes, routines in the classroom helps to improve the teaching-learning process and
have a good impact on students' conduct as well as their academic performance. As a
result, adopting a predictable routine in the classroom is one proactive tactic that
teachers can use. Students have the chance to develop greater responsibility and better
self-management abilities when they are required to execute routine chores. The
foundation of everyday classroom life is routine. Both learning and teaching are
facilitated by them. Routines not only simplify the lives of instructors, but they also
help to maximize classroom time. Most importantly, effective procedures make it
simpler for kids to learn and perform better.

What insights have you gained while doing this learning episode?
Classrooms with clear systems, routines, expectations, and workflows run more
smoothly, eliminating behaviors that can derail a class. Classrooms are full of routines.
They help students feel more at ease with the daily activities of the classroom and give
them a sense of knowing what to expect when they walk to the door each morning. And if
there is no routine, a chaotic classroom is expected. Classroom procedures are steps taken
by teachers to maintain order in the classroom. They ensure students know what is
expected of them and help to ensure that the teacher's instructions are understood clearly.
Effective classroom procedures create a safe and comfortable learning environment where
students feel secure. So, teachers must be clear with their expectations for students in their
classrooms and should model appropriate behavior.
As we entered classrooms with our resource teachers, we noticed how the routines and
procedures were being implemented. It was not easy because students were chaotic
sometimes and couldn't understand simple instructions. The students' behaviors are far
from what we expected. We may say students are aware of these routines and procedures
because we see it in how they behave in class, but some do not usually practice what they
learned from the teachers. Inconsistency is there. It is hard to handle them. That's why
patience is needed.

Take some snapshots of your routines in the class and tell something about them. You may
also write down the procedures you have formulated and explain the reason for these.
