DATE:
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrate understanding of order of operations,
ratio and proportion, percent, exponent, and integers
B. Performance Standard The learner is able to apply knowledge of order of operations,
ratio and proportion, percent, exponent, and integers in
mathematical problems and real-life situations
C. Learning Competencies / Find the percentage or rate or percent in a given problem
Objectives (M6NS-IId-142)
II. CONTENT Finding the percentage or rate or percent in a given problem

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or Directions: Identify whether the following problems are looking
presenting the new lesson for the percentage, rate or base. Then, solve for the unknown.
1. 85% of P78.00 is what amount? __________
2. 2. 45% of 70 is what number? __________
3. 3. 7 is 35% of what number? __________
4. 4. 110% of what amount is P660.00? __________
5. 5. P120.00 is 180% of what amount? __________
B. Establishing a purpose for the How much money do you spend in school every day?
lesson Do you save some of it for future use?
Why did you do it? Share your experience.
Let the pupils realize the importance of being thrifty.
C. Presenting Finding Percentage, Rate, and Base
Examples/Instances of new
Mark’s daily allowance is P40.00. He spends P12.00 for snacks.
lesson
This is 30% of his daily allowance.
Identify which information represents the percentage, the rate,
and the base.
The situation above can also be described as:
30% of 40 is 12 → 30% x 40 =12 ↓
Rate (R) x Base (B) =
Percentage (P)
In this case, we can now generate formula for finding
the percentage (P), the rate(R), and the base (B).
2. 21% 0f Ҏ1,800 = n
Before the group activity begins. Let the learners know and be
reminded about the things or standard they need to do.
GROUP ACTIVITY
Direction: Complete the table by writing the missing
percentage, rate or base.
1. 40 10
2. 10% 12
3. 15% 120
4. 20% 60
5. 780 390
