NOTE:
C6 control valve body is only in 3700 SP transmis-
sion models.
1. Remove four bolts 167 remove C6 valve body
bracket 168, spring 178, accumulator plug 179
and valve body 177.
2. Remove pin 176 for solenoid 171. Remove
nut 169 and plate 170, solenoid 171, two
O-rings 172 and 173, valve 174, and spring
175.
3. Remove screw 186 and bracket 185. Remove
solenoid 182, O-rings 183 and 184, valve 181
and spring 180.
4. Inspect both valves and bores for nicks, wear,
and damage.
e. Disassembly of Main Valve Body (Foldout 15)
1. Remove two bolts 95 and main valve body as-
sembly 118.
2. Lift Main control valve body and set on flat
work space.

3. Remove solenoid retention pin 114 from bot-
tom of control valve body.
4. Remove solenoid 115 with O-rings 116 and
117. Measure the resistance of the solenoid by
using the chart in Figure 5–12.
5. Remove valve retention pin 98.
6. Remove stop 101, spring 100, and lockup relay
valve 99.
7. Remove valve retention pin 102.
8. Remove stop 105, spring 104, and lube regula-
tor valve 104.
WARNING!
Springs 108 and 112 are highly compressed. Be
extremely careful during disassembly. Personal
injury can occur if the spring force is not con-
trolled.
9. Install spring compressor J 35924 (Figure 5–24).
Compress spring 108, remove valve retention
pin 106, and carefully remove compressor
J 35924 after turning handle counter-clockwise
to release spring force.
10. Remove stop 109, spring 108, and main regula-
tor valve 107.
