LESSON PLAN in EARTH & LIFE SCIENCE
First Quarter
November 13, 2023
Content Standard/s: The historical development of the concept of life
Performance Standard/s: Value life by taking good care of all beings, humans, plants,
and animals
Learning Competency: Explain the evolving concept of life based on emerging pieces
of evidence (S11/12LT-IIa-1)
D. Activity
E. Analysis
After doing the activity the teacher asks the students the following
Questions.
1. How did life come to earth?
2. What do you think are some conditions which may have enabled the first forms to
evolve?
F. Abstraction
The teacher presents the objective of the lesson
Discussion of Evolving concept of life.
The formation of planets did not use up all the materials
orbiting the sun, so the early Earth received shower of meteorites and
was struck by many asteroids. These extraterrestrial materials and the
recurring volcanic eruptions paved the way for the formation of Earth’s
land, seas, and atmosphere.
It is still a matter of discussion, but geological evidence
suggests that the early Earth began with little or no free Oxygen (O2)
—had O2 been present iron oxidation (rust formation) in most ancient
rocks would have been observed, but no such sign of oxidation was
found. Had O2 been present, small organic compounds would have
broken apart as quickly as they formed due oxidation reactions.
G. Application
IV. EVALUATION
