JUNE 2023
I. INTRODUCTION

Tired but fulfilled. That's how young entrepreneurs of Group 1 of 12 ABM

Pacioli described their experience as they manage and operate their own

business as part of their requirements for business enterprise simulation and

entrepreneurship subject.

Smiles on their faces cannot be hidden as their iced coffee business made

around 5,000.00 PHP after 9 days of selling. Yet, it's not the amount itself that

brings them joy; it's the fact that their hard work and exhaustion bore fruit, making

their efforts worthwhile.

These young entrepreneurs were very uncertain and had many doubts

while getting ready to start their business. They were worried about whether their

business would do well and if they would make back the money they had

invested. But instead of dwelling on their worries, they chose to enjoy the

moment and ended up achieving the results they wanted.

During their moments of uncertainties, they always remembered the

underlying purpose of their iced coffee business. First and foremost, it was to

provide students with an affordable cup of coffee that would awaken their minds

and energize their spirits, fueling their academic pursuits. Additionally, they

viewed the venture as a chance to gain valuable entrepreneurial experience.

Running and managing an iced coffee business required a diverse set of skills,

which they believed would be instrumental in their future entrepreneurial

endeavors.
II. NARRATIVE

Preparation

When the students of 12 ABM Pacioli were assigned the task of starting

their own business, they took the initiative to ask their fellow students about their

preferences for buying things. They wanted to know what products were most

liked by students. The survey results showed that iced coffee was the top choice

among students.

Taking the feedback into account, the team worked together to come up

with a suitable name for their business, which they decided to call "COMFEE."

From March 27 to April 7, they put in a lot of effort to create a comprehensive

business plan, which laid the foundation for their entrepreneurial journey.

As the designated day for selling their products drew nearer, May 31 and

June 1 became the busiest days for the team. The team was occupied with

purchasing all the necessary items from the Gapan City Public Market to kickstart

their business. They were also busy working together to test the quality of the

iced coffees they would be selling, ensuring they tasted delicious. Furthermore,

they utilized those days to capture appealing photos and edit them for their

Facebook page, with the intention of effectively promoting their product.

Experiences and Problems Met

On June 2, the team encountered an unfortunate situation on their first

day of selling their product. The building where their classroom was located

experienced a power outage, forcing them to relocate to another building to

continue their business operations. This unexpected event caused some delays,

resulting in the team being unable to fulfill all the pre-orders due to limited time. It

served as a valuable lesson for the team to be prepared for unforeseen

circumstances.

The team opted to operate their business on June 3 from the home of one

of the team members. They accepted orders and arranged for delivery to their

customers. The day went smoothly, and they managed to sell a satisfactory

number of cups.

On June 5 and 6, the team began selling their product as early as 8 am

because there was no teacher scheduled for that time. These days were quite

hectic as customers kept coming continuously, to the point where certain

ingredients, particularly ice and fresh milk, ran out due to high demand.

Nonetheless, the team managed to overcome these challenges and noticed a

noticeable improvement in the speed of their customer service compared to

previous days.

On June 8, after taking a day off to rest, the team resumed their business

operations. Unfortunately, they faced unexpected issues, such as giving wrong

orders to customers and receiving complaints about the taste of their product

from dissatisfied customers. However, the team managed to handle these

situations adeptly and with professionalism.

On June 9, similar to their first day of selling, the team faced a power

outage, which led them to relocate their business to another building. They also

encountered the ongoing challenge of running out of ingredients, as they had

experienced in the past few days. Nevertheless, despite these hurdles, the day

turned out to be a great success for the team.

June 10 proved to be the most challenging day for the team. Being a

Saturday, they made the decision to start operating early in the morning because

some team members had prior commitments later in the day. Unfortunately, this

decision didn’t work out as expected, and they only managed to sell a few cups

of their product.

After taking a break to fulfill their educational responsibilities, the team

returned to business on June 14 and 15, which were the final operating days.

Since these days coincided with exam days, they decided to operate only in the

afternoon to avoid any interference with the morning exam schedules. Despite

feeling fatigued from their recent school commitments, the team pushed through

and continued their operations. They recognized the significance of these last

operating days and were determined to make the most of them, ensuring that no

ingredients went to waste.

III. CONCLUSION

Overall, the business achieved remarkable success, surpassing all others in

terms of sales. However, what truly matters is not just the sales numbers but the

invaluable experience they acquired throughout the process. This experience will

serve as a valuable asset for their future endeavors.

The team discovered that when they wholeheartedly dedicate themselves

to something, they can achieve anything. These young and ambitious

entrepreneurs learned to harness their doubts as fuel to improve themselves.

Through their unwavering efforts, they gained a valuable understanding of how

doubts can be transformed into motivation, propelling them to greater success.

It is truly inspiring to witness these young entrepreneurs bravely take on the

challenge of starting their own business. Despite facing unexpected setbacks,

they consistently rise to the occasion and handle whatever comes their way.
