Milestone and Measures

In creating goals and milestones for a business, there are a lot of things you

should consider. The taste of the product, the wants, corrections, and suggestions of

your customers, and especially their behavior. The SNMM aims to provide satisfying

and delicious products to cater to the needs and wants of the students of KNHS.

SNMM’s short-range strategic objective is to gain higher profit and become

better entrepreneurs while maintaining the excellent services that they offer to the

most cared-for customers.

While SNMM’s long-range strategic objective is to expand its business,

improve the quality of its products, acquire knowledge and new skills and improve as

young entrepreneurs through their experiences.

For their business to achieve those short and long goals. SNMM Corporation

will apply various strategies that will ensure the success of its business in the near

future. The young entrepreneurs will also improve their work ethics therefore

drastically improving their sales and products.

The primary milestone of this business is to improve and continue the strategic

direction used, for them to reach their optimal vision for their business. The members

hope to achieve their goals and milestone and make them motivated to continue to

strive harder.

Scenario Planning

It’s not easy to build or handle a business. In business planning should also

think what might be the possible problems that you will encounter, so you can make
16

a backup plan to surpass the business challenges. It should have another strategy

plan in the business in case your present strategy won't work.

After the Plan

Since SNMM is doing well and the customers even patronize it, the SNMM

Food Corporation plans to continue its business for as long as possible. To do that,

young entrepreneurs must work on improving themselves as well as their business.

They must also go off all the negative thoughts that they have and focus on their

main goal which is to succeed. And lastly, their team must work hand in hand to

ensure a good and prosperous business.

the business successful in the coming years. The SNMM Food Corporation also

asked Mrs. Thata Oacdaan, an Entrepreneur in Kapalong whom they can ask and

seek advice on the quality and taste of their product.

Organizational Structure Communications

Business would not be possible without the owner or even the help of your

workers. The works are divided according to his/her role and responsibility. The

owner or the manager is the one that organizes the duties of each member and is

also in charge of running the business. A qualified young leader must possess great

leadership skills that could motivate his/her members to be responsible and do their
19

best to help and cooperate. The production team has also the most important role

since they are in charge of making a good quality and delicious product and they are

the ones who are responsible for sales. And also, hire a bookkeeper to compile,

analyze, interpret, record, and keep the company’s book safety and also a cashier

Individual and Organizational Development

The business owner and stockholders of SNMM, do their best for the

business to improve and give the customer the satisfaction that they deserved. Also,

they are aiming for the business to be successful in the long run of business cycles.

To ensure improvement, the company will send employees to attend seminars and

training for better work results.

Management Strategies

SNMM is a small business, it is a combination of servicing and manufacturing.

The customers are the reason why the business is still on the go, that is why they

are doing their best to communicate and treat them well. One of the problems that

they’re facing is that there are plenty of businesses out there that don’t value the

importance of engaging customers and insist on shoving sales to their buyers.

Understanding your customer well is one of the traits a businessman must possess
21

to have a successful business, although not all of them are good at communicating,

they still manage and achieved it with the help of technology and social media.

Engaging with others will help us promote the product that will help us and

lead us to a bigger number of productions which means profits. They need the

customer to value the products which are why they are giving them the best

customer experience. The SNMM will always give you quality products and the most

delicious and affordable prices.

Store Location Layout

The SNMM food corporation’s store location is found right in their room

because there is no designated place where they could sell their products.

Considering the location of their business which is on the 1 st floor of the senior high

school building (HUMSS 11-C), it is expected that their customers would be

disheartened to buy their products. Thus, the young entrepreneurs had to make

accommodations; they decided to directly sell their products to their customers to

deprive them of the hassle of going to the 1 st floor of the senior high school building.

For a starting business they needed to have the necessary equipment that is needed

in selling the product, ice boxes as well as enough supply to run the business.

Hours of Operation

SNMM is open on weekdays at Kapalong National High School starting from

8:30 Am to 4:00 PM.

Production Aspect

The SNMM Food Corporation made products that are popular with its

customers. The ingredients that are used in making their product are sourced from

Kapalong Public Market. Their products are sold at Kapalong National High School

to satisfy their customers. To make sure that their company/ business is not failing,

these inventory procedures are applied: first, they totaled the cost of their expenses,

then check the number of products that are produced, and finally total both the price

of expenses and cost of sales to make sure that they have their profit.

Data Management

SNMM properly administer their data for them to succeed in their business.

They gather quality data, grab and maintain business and customer information,

monitor key indicators, extract usable information, and product innovation and

ensure data security. They also compute profit in every product that they sell a day

to make sure that the business is running well.

Intellectual Property

Keeping and protecting intellectual property (IP) is an important thing to do,

because of this, they can increase the company’s market value and also increase

the competitive advantage in the global market in the near future. They assure that

intangible assets such as designs, names, and processes are protected. They

manage to keep it a secret from people other than employees; if involving other

people is needed, they make sure that they sign an agreement before they continue.

Risk Management

The SNMM Food Corporation is prone in terms of risk management.

Understanding potential risks to the business and finding ways to minimize their

impacts will help the business recover quickly if an incident occurs. It’s important to

allocate some time, resources, and budget for preparing a risk management plan

and business impact analysis. Having not enough budget to provide the ingredients

can put the business at risk, and it can cause a shortage of the product that might

affect the balancing of supply and demand to avoid that kind of situation, they do a

weekly inventory to ensure that the budget is good enough. Also, if we consider its
25

location, SNMM is a rural area wherein the resources are very hard to acquire. To

manage that risk, SNMM used alternative ingredients to replace the main

ingredients.

This will help to meet legal obligations for providing a safe workplace and can

reduce the probability of an incident negatively impacting the business. One of the

solutions that the business has prepared is a backup copy of all the recorded data of

sales and expenses to avoid future problems.

Insurance

Insurance is a very important aspect that a company should consider. Every

company should have its own insurance as well as its employee, especially big

companies. In starting a new business, it is not yet necessary to have insurance

since it is still in the process of improving, but there should always be consideration

of having insurance because it can make a big impact on the future of a business.

Insurance covers a lot of areas in a business such as abrupt circumstances and risk

as well as the price/cost of a company in a scenario where the business is failing.

Taxes

In building a business, the Government requirements should be complied with

by the entrepreneurs. Permits and various licenses are fundamental to operating

your business legally. Taxes are used to improve the industry which is in line with the

law. These laws and regulations are essential to the geographic projects of the

government.

In doing this, the structure of the business establishment should be put into

prior notice to establish it properly. This works as a protection for the business and

has some tax benefits.

26

Every business is required to pay its taxes. This economical concern is the

responsibility of the proper entrepreneur. Obeying the government’s law is a sign of

a successful and good business.

Business Cycles

Having a business is quite arduous and they need to know a lot of things and

encounter some new experiences until they succeed. It all starts in the production

process; it is the process that a product or service takes for it to become ready for

customers to buy. After the product is made, they supply and demand. To see if the

product is good enough to maintain the orders o there will be a shortage.

Then they do financing, which is the process of providing funds for business

activities and making purchases for investing. From the profits they have, they buy

materials and ingredients that are used in product making to sell it again. It is

essential for us to do financing so that it will keep the business operating smoothly

without running out of cash while also securing funds for long-term investments. And

that is how the business cycle works so that the business will grow until it becomes

successful.

Operational Strategies

Before they can even begin to establish themselves in a particular place, they

should consider the factors within that certain area. Also, if the business they are

having is fit for the market or the people that live there. For short, they must review

the qualities, for it to be qualified as a business to correspond with the following

establishment within its range.

For sales, they must consider useful and valuable products that can be

significant for the consumers, for it to have a demand high enough to support its
27

foundation. As for production, raw materials that are going to be used must be

assured to be available, for the supply to be constant, and to avoid bad reproduction

to ensure the stability of the business.
