INTRODUCTION

This section of the business plan presents the description of the business, its location, and

the total funding requirements and the possible funding source.

Description of the Business

RMD's Special Ice Candy focuses on highlighting the unique selling points, target market,

and overall value proposition of the product. It showcases frozen refreshments as a delicious and

healthier alternative to traditional icy treats. It aims to capture the attention of potential customers

by emphasizing the product's ingredients, health benefits, affordability, and ability to provide relief

from the summer heat. Made with milk and enriched with antioxidants from carrots and other beta

carotene- rich vegetables, our ice candy provides a cool and creamy indulgence that supports

your well-being. Packed with 13 essential vitamins and nutrients, it not only satisfies your cravings

but also nourishes your body. Its unique combination of ingredients ensures that you can enjoy a

tasty, creamy treat while reaping the benefits of a nutritious snack. With affordability at just Php

10.00, it's a smart choice for those seeking both quality and value. The current heat index affected

the health of the students- apropos their preferences with their food and beverages. One common

factor the proponents of this business found was the lack of cold sweets/drinks in the school’s

canteen. From this, the group thought of a cold-sweet refreshment that can cool down the

students’ temperature, satisfy their sweet cravings, and provide nutritious dessert at the same

time at a very affordable price.

Location of the Business

The location of the business, specifically targeting all strands of Senior High School, would

typically be within the premises of Senior High School itself. It would be situated in the SHS

building or in a designated area within the school campus of Dasmariñas Integrated High School

(DIHS). A significant advantage of operating within the SHS building is the immediate access to

a captive audience of students, teachers, and staff. This is why we—the proponents, have

decided to operate our business on the SHS building of Dasmarñas Integrated High School.

Funding Requirement and Source of Funds

In determining the funding requirement for RMD's Special Ice Candy business, it's crucial

to consider multiple factors such as startup costs, operational expenses, marketing and

advertising, equipment and supplies, and working capital. These are some steps to help estimate

our funding needs:

1. Start-up Costs: We calculate the initial expenses necessary to establish our business.

2. Operational Expenses: Determine the costs required to run the business, such as utilities,

packaging materials, and other recurring expenses.

3. Equipment and Supplies: We compile a list of equipment and supplies needed to produce

and sell our ice candies, such as ice candy molds, freezers, display cases, packaging

materials, ingredients, and utensils. We estimate the costs for each item.

4. Once our funding requirement is determined, various sources of funds can be explored,

including:

a. Personal Savings: Consider utilizing personal savings or funds to finance the

business, reducing reliance on external financing and maintaining full control.

b. Friends and Family: Approach friends or family members who might be interested

in investing in buying ice candy.

It's essential to create a solid business plan with financial projections and a detailed

budget. This demonstrates the viability and profitability of RMD's Special Ice Candy business,

increasing the chances of securing necessary funding.

Goals

To successfully introduce and sell beta carotene ice candy in schools, promoting a healthy

and delicious alternative to traditional snacks while complying with nutritional guidelines and

fostering positive eating habits among students. By aligning with school wellness initiatives and

addressing any concerns regarding allergens or dietary restrictions, this goal will create a positive

impact on the health and well-being of students while building a successful market for carrot ice

candy in schools.

Objectives of the Business

The business's main goal is to make money, hence profitability is important. Selling its

goods at a price that covers costs and yields a respectable profit margin is the key to the financial

success of an ice candy company. The success of a company selling ice candies depends on

establishing a satisfied and devoted consumer base. This goal must be achieved by offering

premium, mouthwatering ice candy items and top-notch customer service. For our company,

media and word-of-mouth marketing for a personalized approach as a marketing tool. Our primary

focus will be highlighting its distinct quality of being made from real vegetables and the nutritional

contents that it has to offer. We will create a dedicated business page and encourage all team

members to share the advertisements to maximize product visibility. The advertisements will

feature captivating visuals, and catchy phrases to grab the market's attention. This approach will

help us reach potential customers through different channels and create meaningful connections
