Chapter I
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Jam-ulous ,it is the proposed name of the planned business.
These are jams made out of pineapple. The group decided to select this
business name to grab the attention of the people by its creativity and
to make them curious as well when they hear it, the business name. And
by that being said we are on pleasure to give curiosity that we aim to
give our potential customers with our selected business name and lead it
to a sweet and j-amazing destination with our “Jam-ulous”.

The business will offer people jams that is made out of sweet
pineapple that is placed in a jar. The people within the business offers
a great service as well in serving its customers. The target customers
of this business are Student and Teachers of Surigao del Norte National
High School which belongs to the generation of millennials. This
business will come in a collaboration form of eight. Each will share
equal and negotiable profit and loss. It will be a corporation form
wherein every member will contribute P150.00 as their shares in the
business capital.

The planned business will be held by whole group. Since


schools are resumed, the business will happen with the face-to-face
interaction. The business team will be selling it personally and will
also use the advantage of social media and transaction will follow.
Moreover, the business will be operating in a MWF setup (Monday –
Wednesday – Friday), from 10 – 5pm, service is available. Products will
be held in personally of course, but still in the safest ways. Delivery
at homes will be available around the city, with additional P10.00 fee.

In relevance of the timely happenings brought by the


pandemic, The team will still be observing minimal health protocols to
avoid harm to the society and to the potential buyers. Proper hygiene
and PPEs will be applied from making the products till the hand in hand
delivery operation. Within just in a week of two after the start-up, it
is expected to recover the capital, P1,200. The remaining will be the
desired be used to keep the business on track . After one month of
service, the investment is returned, kept on track and the remaining
will be the possible income of the small planned business.
PROJECT BACKGROUND

A. Name of the Business


The name of the business will be “The JAM-ulous”, it is the
proposed name of the planned business. These are jams made out of
pineapple. The group decided to select this business name to grab the
attention of the people by its creativity and to make them curious as
well when they hear it, the business name. And by that being said we are
on pleasure to give curiosity that we aim to give our potential
customers with our selected business name and lead it to a sweet and j-
amazing destination with our “Jam-ulous”.

B. Project Proponents
The group will be composed of four (8) members namely:
Anthien Mejorada, Kevin Escamilian, Dymae Tio, Daniela Silos, Jeandy
Arong, Renchie Maglasang, Stephanie Sanguenza, and Quincy Pastorall. We
are aware of the importance of building a solid business structure that
can support the kind of world class business we want to own. At The JAM-
ulous, we will ensure that we hire people that are qualified,
hardworking, and creative, result driven, customer centric and are ready
to work to help us build a prosperous business that will benefit all the
stake holders. As a matter of fact, profit-sharing arrangement will be
made available to all our senior management staff and it will be based
on their performance for a period of ten years or more as agreed by the
board of trustees of the company.

C. General Description of the Business


The group will be engaging in food business. The target
customers of this business are Student and Teachers of Surigao del Norte
National High School which belongs to the generation of millennials.
This business will come in a collaboration form of eight. Each will
share equal and negotiable profit and loss. It will be a corporation
form wherein every member will contribute P150.00 as their shares in the
business capital.
There are some reasons why the group decided to choose this
product. One of which is to actually experience the real scenario of
having a food business since we are entrepreneurial marketing students.
Lastly, is to provide the student, faculty and staff of the campus with
nutritious and delicious Jam at a very affordable price.
D. Product/Service
Our Pineapple Jam s will satisfy the cravings of the people
especially to those who love sweets or desserts. The Jam that we’re
offering will truly remove your hunger without worrying about your
health, because we make sure that we put just a right amount of sugar.
In addition, Pineapple Jam tastes great on breads, French toast, crepes,
sandwiches, cookies and tarts. To sweeten and flavor your Oatmeal or
Muesli, add pineapple jam. Nutritional Benefits: Pineapple Jam is low in
calories, and contains the bromelain enzyme which assists in digesting
proteins and also has anti-inflammatory properties. Pineapple Jam is a
good source of vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, copper, calcium,
phosphorus, potassium, manganese and carbohydrates. It is good for the
eyes, and can prove helpful for people with high blood pressure,
arthritis and bronchitis.
MARKETING PLAN
In the establishment of a business, there are lots of things that need
to be considered. These are the 4 P’s of marketing namely, the product,
price, place and promotion. Furthermore, it also includes description of
the competition, supply and demand analysis that will serve as
determining factors whether the business could withstand and can be
realized in the market.

A. Marketing Objectives
1. To satisfy the needs and wants of the customers starting next
semester, school year 2022-2023
2. To penetrate the market considering that there are many food
establishments in the campus.
3. To increase sales by 3% every month starting January 2023
4. To provide the students, faculty and staff of the campus with
nutritious and delicious products and to inform them of its
benefits.

In the survey conducted, it is expected that there’s a greater
demand for the food offerings of the business. The proponents decided to
acquire only the best yet favorably-priced materials and ingredients in
the stores in Surigao City. If there will be shortage of stock, then it
will be bought in the commercial center since the raw materials are
highly available in there.The proponents will cater the needs in
response to the demand of the market. They believe that the proposed
business can get a market share if launched in the market.
C. Marketing Program

Product Offering The proposed venture will offer the following
Snacks Pineapple Jam Php 75.00 Pineapple Jam Sandwich Php 15.00 The
proponents decided to also offer Pineapple Jam Sandwich which contains
sliced bread and a spread of our jam-olicious sweet pineapple jam. In
positioning the venture and it's products, we will make sure to provide
a happy and welcoming environment in the establishment. We will also
emphasize fast service, delicious and nutritious delicacies at a
affordable price.

The product size of the business will depend on the demand of


the products to avoid waste of ingredients and materials. Rest assured
that the demands of all the customers will be accommodated without
sacrificing the quality of the product.

2. Pricing
In pricing the products to be offered, the proponents decided
to price the jam for only P75 and for the egg sandwich also is for P15
pesos.

3. Place
A. Business Location
The restaurant will be established in the Covered Court of
Surigao del Norte National High School. The location may not be that
strategic as putting the establishment in the commercial center but the
proponents will do some measures to compete against its potential
competitors like massive promotion and the like.

B. Distribution Strategies
Direct distribution will be used by the proponents since
it’s basically a business that use direct to consumer approach. Also,
there will be a delivery services for those who wanted to order the
products being offered but with additional fee's.
4. Promotion
An effective marketing strategy will seek to increase the popularity
of our business, which is selling Pineapple Jam and Sandwich, resulting
in an increase in sales and making us one of the most well-known
businesses in our area. This will highlight the customer's need to fully
customize their preferred range of our products, which is also based on
their preferences.

 Social Media – We will be active on the different social media


platforms, specifically Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest
by posting and gathering data or information about updates and
trends in order to raise awareness, visibility, and understand the
desires of the younger generation, especially the millennial which
can help to the sales of our business.

 Flyers -- Flyers are an easy and effective way to tell people on


the street about your services and products. They may have never
seen your website, or may not be on social media. Even if they are
online, they may take more notice of a flyer that is handed to them
rather than scrolling through their news feed.

 Young generations- we will attempt to gather data to the various


young generations or the teenagers who actively purchase sweet
foods particularly the Jam in satisfying their cravings especially
in doing their school activities or modules. A linkage will be
established with them so that they become aware about the products
that we’re selling, the cupcakes and shakes. This will be achieved
through as advertisements through tarpaulins and flyers that
specifically target this demographic.

CONCLUSION
Pineapple Jam is a jelly-based product that is loved and
adored by all, irrespective of their age. Whether kids, children, men,
or women, everyone enjoys eating fruit jam with their favorite as well
as quick meals. In addition to this, fruit like pineapple jam is a
product that is used by a massive population. This means that the market
for selling a Fruit Jam is vast, and its market potential is also
magnificent. Moreover, a fruit jam is that eatable which is highly-
consumed in the age group of 8-14 years. Therefore, it can be stated
that choosing to establish the Fruit Jam Making Business will be proved
a good decision for all the budding entrepreneurs and small-scale
businesspersons.
Fruit Jam Making Business is a business of assured success as
the fruit jam is that product that has maintained its extensive
popularity locally. Additionally, this is a business idea that ensures a
good profit-margin. The JAM-olous is a unit of individuals who are
working for the welfare of the people and the locality. We at The JAM-
ulous work to grant support to people and youth who struggle to maintain
an improved livelihood for themselves. Our volunteers also work
relentlessly to provide help to the budding entrepreneurs as well as to
the small-scale businessmen. We never fail to render financial
assistance to a small-scale businessperson who always aims to see them
become self-reliant.
