Document Development Exposition: White Paper

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
When it came to my White Paper assignment I had the idea of making sure to include a lot of
information when it came to how scientists could combat bamboo decay and the solutions for it.
One of the largest issues I had when it came to this assignment was formatting the white Paper in
the style that was presented to us in the powerpoint. I was able to overcome this obstacle by looking
up multiple tutorials online on how to do some of the stuff that we needed to do for this white paper
assignment.

First Draft (for peer editing)

My First Draft for this assignment went pretty smoothly, I had a good amount of information on each
of the 3 main paragraphs. The Biggest issue that I ran into when it came to my first draft of my White
Paper Assignment was still formatting the white paper to look like the example that was shown to us
in class, mainly when it came to drop downs and figuring out how to make collapsible text boxes for
the assignment.

Second Draft (for your packet)

My Second Draft of the White Paper Packet Assignment was honestly a disaster, I still had a lot of
issues figuring out how to make collapsible text boxes and the other things that we were required to
do for this assignment. The Biggest issue that I ended up having with my second draft of my White
Paper was rewording some of the information that I had presented so that It would flow more
smoothly within the assignment itself. One way in which I managed to get past that obstacle was
through having my best friend help me edit and change up some of the wording to be more concise.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

The Final Draft of my White Paper Assignment ended up being a lot smoother than the previous
drafts for this assignment, in the end I ended up changing a lot of my fonts and I even added more
information in some of the sections of the white paper itself. One of the largest issues I had when it
came to the Final Draft of my White Paper was reformatting the White Paper in the end to better
match what I was required to have the paper look like. One way in which I managed to overcome this
challenge was by deliberately completely editing entire sections of the White Paper to make it look
better in the end.
