This chapter deals with the essential components of the
research process. The components are the research design, research setting, research respondents, research instruments, data gathering procedure, and the statistical treatment of the data.
Research Design
Phenomenology, it emphasizes understanding the subjective
experience of parents who have a child with special needs. By adopting this approach, you can delve into how children with special needs experience the new normal set-up in their educational settings. This includes their thoughts, feelings, perceptions, challenges, and coping mechanisms. Phenomenology allows you to capture the nuance and complexities or their experiences, providing a rich and detailed understanding. This can shed light on how these children perceive and interpret their experiences, as well as the significance they attribute to different aspects of the new normal set-up.
Phenomenology prioritizes the voices and perspectives of
participants through interviews, observations, and other data collection methods. By allowing them to share their stories, you can empower them to voice in shaping policies, interventions, and support systems related to the new normal set-up. Phenomenological research can provide valuable information for developing targeted interventions and support strategies. By deeply understanding the lived experiences of the children with special needs in the new normal set-up, you can identify specific areas where additional is needed, adapt instructional approaches, or enhance accessibility
