understand who we are and what we want from life. Amid these events, we also learn to
overcome obstacles, building resilience and determination.
Entering adulthood, life's events take on new dimensions. Finding a job, forming
relationships, and starting a family become significant milestones. Each step forward
presents its challenges, yet these events foster personal growth and a deeper
understanding of responsibility.
As the years pass, we reflect on the accumulation of events that have shaped us. We

Amazing Animals Around Us
Animals are incredible creatures that share our planet. From tiny insects to massive
mammals, the animal kingdom is vast and diverse. Let's take a closer look at some
fascinating animals and learn more about their unique characteristics.
Dolphins are smart and friendly marine mammals. They live in oceans and love to swim
and play. Dolphins communicate using clicks and whistles and often swim in groups
called pods. They're known for their acrobatic jumps and flips out of the water!
Elephants are the largest land animals. They have big ears that help them stay cool, and
long trunks they use for grabbing food and spraying water. Elephants live in groups
called herds and are very social. They're also known for their excellent memory!
Butterflies are beautiful insects with colorful wings. They start as caterpillars, eat lots of
leaves, and then turn into butterflies inside a cozy cocoon. They use their delicate wings
to fly from flower to flower, helping plants grow by spreading pollen.
Penguins are birds that can't fly but are amazing swimmers. They live in cold places like
Antarctica. Penguins have a special layer of fat and thick feathers to keep them warm.
They waddle on land but glide gracefully through the water, catching fish for meals.
Lions are known as the "kings of the jungle." They live in grasslands and have a
majestic mane around their neck. Lions live in groups called prides and work together to
hunt for food. Male lions protect the pride, while females are great hunters.
Bees are tiny insects that play a big role in making flowers grow. They collect nectar
from flowers and turn it into sweet honey. Bees live in hives and work as a team. They
buzz around, spreading pollen, which helps plants make seeds and fruits.
Kangaroos are unique animals from Australia. They have strong back legs and a tail
they use for balance. Kangaroos can hop great distances, which helps them move
quickly in search of food and water. Baby kangaroos, called joeys, live in their mother's
pouch!

environments and demand courage, skill, and a passion for adventure. Let's explore
some popular extreme sports and discover what makes them so thrilling.
Skydiving: Imagine jumping out of an airplane thousands of feet above the ground!
Skydiving is a heart-pounding sport where brave individuals leap from a plane,
freefalling before opening their parachute. The feeling of flying through the air is

Weather and Natural Disasters
Weather and natural disasters are some of the most powerful forces on Earth. They can
have extreme effects on the environment and people's lives. Let's explore some of the
most common weather phenomena and natural disasters.
One of the most beautiful weather events is a rainbow. After a rainstorm, when the sun
comes out, it creates the most colorful arch in the sky. Rainbows are indeed one of the
most enchanting sights in nature.
On the other hand, hurricanes are among the most destructive natural disasters. These
enormous storms, with the strongest winds and heaviest rains, can cause massive
damage to buildings and landscapes. They are indeed the most powerful forces of
nature.
Earthquakes are some of the most sudden and terrifying natural disasters. The ground
shakes intensely during an earthquake, causing buildings to sway and sometimes
collapse. Among all natural disasters, earthquakes can be the most frightening.
In some places, tornadoes are the most feared weather events. These spinning columns
of air can cause tremendous destruction in a matter of minutes. They are indeed the
most unpredictable and dangerous storms.
Volcanic eruptions are some of the most astonishing natural phenomena. When a
volcano erupts, it spews out molten lava, ash, and gases, transforming the landscape.
These eruptions are indeed some of the most dramatic events in nature.
In conclusion, weather and natural disasters encompass some of the most remarkable
and powerful occurrences on our planet. From the stunning beauty of rainbows to the
devastating force of hurricanes, these events remind us of the immense forces that shape
the world around us.
2. What is described as the most powerful force of nature due to its strong winds
and heavy rains?
A) Earthquake
B) Tornado
C) Hurricane
D) Volcanic eruption
3. Among all the natural disasters, which event is characterized as the most sudden
and terrifying?

1. Write about the most powerful natural disasters for you. Use superlatives.
(50-70 words).
The most powerful natural disasters, in my perspective, are hurricanes. The immense strength of these
storms, with their destructive winds and torrential rains, leaves an indelible mark on landscapes and
lives. Their ability to cause widespread devastation and alter entire ecosystems is unparalleled.
Witnessing the raw power of hurricanes evokes a deep sense of awe and respect for the forces that
nature can unleash, making them the most powerful and formidable natural disasters in my view.
The most haunting natural disasters for me are earthquakes. The sudden and intense shaking of the
ground during an earthquake is the most terrifying experience I can imagine. The unpredictable nature
of these events, coupled with their potential to cause widespread destruction, makes earthquakes the
most fearsome natural phenomena. The profound impact they have on the earth's surface and the
vulnerability they expose in human structures contribute to my perception of earthquakes as the most
powerful and awe-inspiring of all natural disasters.

B. READING
In a land far away, hidden deep within an untouched forest, lies a jungle that is unlike
any other. This jungle is home to some of the most fascinating creatures you can
imagine. As you step into the dense foliage, you're immediately greeted by the scary
calls of exotic birds echoing through the trees.
The jungle is a place of contrasts, where the weather can go from hotter than hot during
the day to colder than cold at night. The days are filled with intense heat that makes you
long for the shade of the tall, majestic trees. However, when the sun sets, the
temperature drops rapidly, and you'll find yourself needing a warmest jacket to keep
cozy.
As you explore deeper into the jungle, you encounter a river with huge crocodiles
basking in the sun. Their jaws are wide open, revealing rows of terrifying teeth. Nearby,
a group of tiny monkeys swings through the trees, their movements as agile as acrobats.
These monkeys are some of the most adorable creatures you've ever seen, with their big,
round eyes and mischievous expressions.
Comparing the animals in the jungle, the crocodiles are certainly larger than the
monkeys, but the monkeys are undeniably more agile. It's fascinating to see how each
animal has adapted to survive in this extreme environment. Some animals have
developed thicker fur to withstand the cold nights, while others have evolved sharper
claws for climbing trees.
One morning, as the sun rises over the horizon, you witness the sky transform into a
beautiful canvas of colors. The sunrise is like a masterpiece, with shades of red, orange,
and pink painting the heavens. It's a sight that leaves you in awe, reminding you of the
wonders of nature.
As you continue your journey through the jungle, you realize that despite its challenging
conditions and occasional natural disasters like thunderstorms, this place holds a unique
beauty that is more captivating than anything you've ever experienced. It's a world
where the animals, the weather, and the landscape come together to create a truly
unforgettable adventure.

5. Write a paragraph about a special trip you´ve made to an extreme place. Make
comparations between animals or people who has been with you. (50-70 words).
During a special trip to the Amazon rainforest, I was accompanied by a diverse group of
people and animals. Among them, my adventurous friend Mark was the most daring, always eager to
explore deeper into the jungle. Sarah, with her extensive knowledge of wildlife, was undoubtedly the
most insightful companion. As for our animal friends, the howler monkeys were the most agile,
effortlessly swinging through the trees. In contrast, the giant anaconda was the most impressive,
showcasing the sheer power of nature. Each member brought a unique quality, making the journey
unforgettable.
