This chapter presents the data obtained, and the analysis and interpretations

based on the statistical tests employed in the study. Discussions are orderly arranged in

the following on the Course Selection: The Factors on choosing their Preferred Course

for Upcoming College Students; Level of Motivation of the participants in selecting their

preferred course once they started their college education in preparation for their career

in the near future; and Relationship between the participants and the variables involved

with their preference that largely affected them on their Course Selection: The Factors

on choosing their Preferred Course for Upcoming College Students. Tables were made

to support the discussions with desired information.

Level of Participants Perception on the Course Selection: The Factors on

choosing their Preferred Course for Upcoming College Students

In the figure presented below are the data collected by the researchers that

Financial

In the data presented on figure 2 shows that it had a 3.96, meaning that out of all

the factors presented financial is the most prevalent factor that affects upcoming 1 st year

college students regarding in choosing their preferred course for college. In addition to

this is that upcoming freshmen in college are more concern with their finances as a top

consideration as to how they will choose their course for their profession in the coming

days, this also states that whenever a college freshmen choose a course their first

criteria is that if whether or not they can afford the tuition fee of that particular course. In

a study conducted says that some data suggest that growth of areas of family income,

financial grant aid/scholarship, and educational student loans have not been able to up

with the demands of the continuous miscellaneous increase of colleges (College Board,

2009; Heller & Marin, 2002). This issue is further exacerbated due to a number of

colleges and universities are more likely to increase tuition fees and miscellaneous

expenses during difficult economic times, often in response to budget cuts at the state

level (Heller & Marin, 2002). In connection to the study given that since finances plays a

crucial role to upcoming college freshmen in choosing their courses, since that tuition

fees or miscellaneous are likely to increase whether be it by semester or by school year

which will hamper the students in completing their education due to this factor. (una na

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

recommendations of the study. The findings are summarized based on the results

drawn from the investigation and questionnaire. Conclusions are based from the results

of the data gathered. Recommendations are offered to give upcoming freshmen college

in choosing their preferred course once they enter college year.

showed that the participants generally perceived the five (5) factors favorably

considered as indicators that affect upcoming college freshmen in choosing their

Preferred Course in college.

In terms of financial of the factors affecting upcoming college freshmen in

choosing their Preferred Course in college, reveals that it has the highest mean among

the five (5) factors, which is taken into account for students in choosing their preferred
