This procedure defines the producer for Operation of rotary bottle washing marching

2. Scope

This procedure is applicable to oral liquid filling in Humanwell Pharmaceutical Ethiopia

PLC

3. Validity

This SOP is valid only until next revision date and if it bears control seal.

4. Responsibility

It will be the responsibility of the shift leaders & supervisors to follow the procedure. Quality
assurance manager is responsible for SOP compliance.

5. Material and Equipment

None

6. Procedure:
6.1. Before starting the operation clean the bottle washing machine and tanks
thoroughly with detergent ( 1% solution) teepol and fresh water to remove any trace of
dirt etc.
6.2. Remove glass pieces if present check the water jet
6.3. Fill the respective tanks with fresh DM water. Ensure that stainless steel tray is
properly cleaned before loading the bottles. Unload the bottles from corrugated boxes
into aluminum tray and then take them to washing area.
6.4. Broken bottles are inspected and rejected before sending for washing. Choose the
correct size of the holder and fix on the stainless still platform. Turn the pump switch and
adjust the pump pressure of each pump with the help of control valves. the washing
process is semi- automatic

6.5. Bottles to be washed are placed inverted on empty nozzles and after the
washing one cycle is completed unloading of the washed bottles in aluminum clean
perforated trays in inverted position so that all the water is drained out
6.6. Left over bottles are re- washed on next day before use
6.7. After completion of washing operations bottles are to be dried in oven at 120
o
c for 1 hour
6.8. Daily - clean the machine thoroughly clean the storage tanks and filters
before filling with the water and detergents as the case may be . Weekly – check the
oil level in the gearbox and fill to the proper level.
