This procedure defines the producer for cleaning of Cleaning of ss water transfer pipe used
in oral liquid manufacturing

2. Scope
This procedure is applicable to oral liquid manufacturing line in Humanwell
Pharmaceutical Ethiopia PLC

3. Validity

This SOP is valid only until next revision date and if it bears control seal.

4. Responsibility

It will be the responsibility of the shift leaders & supervisors to follow the procedure. Quality
assurance manager is responsible for SOP compliance.

5. Material and Equipment

Disinfectant (5% cetrimide solution) &DM Water

6. Procedure
6.1. Before commencing the transfer of the water , the pipe is flushed with hot
purified water ( at 60oc ) for about 5 minutes .
6.2. To remove the water, 1 micron filtered, dried (through silica gel) compressed air
is passed through the pipe for about 10 minutes.
6.3. After completion of the transfer of the water the pipe is flushed with hot ( 60 oC)
purified water through transfer pump flushing is continued till complete washing is
done . Complete washing will be verified when the outlet water observed is clear and
clean.
6.4. After water washing it is flushed with 1 micron filtered dried compressed air for
about 10 minutes.

6.5. Both the open ends of the transfer pipe are covered with polythene bag and tied
with nylon thread.
6.6. It is labeled.
