VI. Target Participants: Registered BSP, Troop Leaders and Institutional

Head

VII. Rationale:
Pursuant to DepEd Order 76, s. 2012, entitled Guidelines on
Revitalizing Boy Scouting in Schools Nationwide, which proves that
scouting with the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) is an effective co-
curricular program in the leadership and value formation of every child.
In line with this, Mariano Marcos Memorial Elementary School will
conduct BSP Backyard Camping, which may develop every boy and
every young man into a well-rounded individual with exemplary
character worth the emulation of schoolchildren because the Boy
Scouting activities of MMMES provide a varied approach to learner
development. These kinds of activities seek to develop character,
leadership, and academic skills, as well as personal growth and a strong
sense of community.

Boy Scouting instills essential values like honesty, responsibility, and

empathy, nurturing well-rounded individuals who contribute positively
to society. These activities promote leadership skills through hands-on
experience, empowering students to take initiative and lead by example.
Furthermore, the emphasis on outdoor activities in scouting fosters self-
reliance and an appreciation for nature, complementing the
development of teamwork and problem-solving abilities.

 Overall, these activities provide a comprehensive education that
combines personal growth, ethical values, leadership, and academic
skills, creating well-rounded individuals who are better equipped to
navigate the complexities of the modern world.

VIII. Objectives:

To develop character, leadership, and academic skills, as well as

personal growth and a strong sense of community.

Promote leadership skills through hands-on experience, empowering

students to take initiative and lead by example.
