Objectives
 To determine the affected amount of students amongst those who utilized the canteen
services
 To determine individuals’ choice of alternatives amidst absence of a canteen
 To analyze how effective the alternatives prove to be.

Introduction
For some time, North Ruimveldt Multilateral Secondary has been without the presence of
canteen services, which has a major impact on the students attending the school for the past 2
years. Students who rely on the canteen’s convenience are now left at a loss, citing the
services of alternatives. This has led to an influx of students at alternatives trying to get their
lunches. However, they have also been concerns about the quality of service provided at these
alternatives, also including their price and variety. These concerns are highly at risk of putting
students at a loss as more money and more time may have to be spent on the alternative’s
services, but the quality may not be up to standard. This has led students to contemplate
whether the canteen was a better option rather than the alternatives.

Methodology
The sample used in this School Based Assessment were the Grade 11 students of North
Ruimveldt Secondary School. The sample was chosen as it was more convenient and reliable
to obtain data from for my analysis. The data collection strategy utilized was a questionnaire.
The reasons for selecting a questionnaire as the data collection strategy were because
questionnaires are efficient, easy to recollect and adaptable to a wide spectrum of inquiries.
