HENERAL LUNA

Heneral Luna is a Filipino film directed by Jerrold Tarog and produced by E. A Rocha released
in 2015. Critics and spectators alike praised the film's cinematography, writing, acting, and plot,
praising it for its cinematography, writing, and performance. The plot revolves around the lifetime of a
short-tempered Filipino general who fights an enemy more powerful than the United States: his own
countrymen. A national hero is understood to possess many adversaries because of his exceedingly
terrible temper, which also contributed to his assassination. We get to understand him better as a
pacesetter, a soldier, a man, and a son, additionally to learning about the setting during which he has
always bubbled up.

I honestly think he is a complete person of integrity and tyrant as a leader; he always demanded
compliance from his soldiers, which gave him a poor reputation, yet despite being a terror commander,
he led his group well, developed war strategy, and fought for the country. Everything seemed
challenging for him since while fighting for the country, he was also arguing together with his fellow
Filipinos, forcing them to follow his orders and strive for what he believed was right. Due to his
strictness, he was given the label of "Heneral Artikulo Uno" by people who failed to consider his
principles.

Filipinos were terrified and cowardly at the instant, in my opinion, which is why they put their
trust within the Americans so quickly. That our authorities at the time were unable to require their own
stand because they were smitten by another country, which resulted within the deaths of the many
Filipino soldiers and citizens, further because the assassination of a good leader by his fellow
countrymen. It appears that unity was a controversy at the time which Luna was right in his assessment
that the Filipinos' real rivals are the Filipinos themselves. Moreover, peace has been difficult to realize
at those times. which made me realize how terrifying power will be. We were oblivious to nationalism
because of power and selfishness.

In addition, I think that at now, we need a leader like Heneral Luna. I love his courage, his
desire to preserve his country, and his commitment to his convictions. I used to be enraged, saddened,
and even bitter toward my those that had deceived Luna. When Heneral Luna declared, "We have an
enemy bigger than Americans—Ourselves," it opened my mind and eyes. Heneral Luna was correct;
the Filipinos' greatest opponent earlier was their fellow Filipinos. That is why they are unable to get
liberty. I salute all of the courageous troops who battled for our freedom, yet because the Generals who
have remained faithful their duty. Especially to General Antonio Luna, our great hero. They have
always been our great country's true heroes.

In conclusion, the film wants for us to determine how Heneral Luna led the Filipino soldiers
against the Americans, how our leaders at the time could not take a stand and be indecisive, and the
way our lack of unity led to the deaths of the many of our countrymen and also Philippines' fall to the
Americans. And you will see from the instant they executed Heneral Luna that Filipinos previously
lacked information. They did not evaluate what would happen if Heneral Luna died, they only
prioritize their own pride and dignity rather than their soon-to-attain freedom from the Americans.
Perhaps if they did not kill Heneral Luna, we would be able to accomplish our desired freedom. The
assembly of the film will retain your attention throughout, from camera shots to vibrant colors, mood,
and smooth transitions from past to present. It also depicts the severity of combat and horrible
moments which will both shock and upset you.
