DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE AND HEALTH 5

TEACHER' SACTIVITY STUDENT' SACTIVITY

A. Reviewing the

purpose for the lesson

Good Morning class!

Good morning ma'am!

What is our lesson yesterday?

Our lesson yesterday was about parts of the

Male reproductive System, ma'am!
Very good!

What are the parts of the Male reproductive

System?

Mae? The parts of the Male reproductive Systemare

Penis, Testes, Scrotum, Glans, Urethra,
Epididymis and Prostate Glands, ma'am!

Very good!
B. Establishing the

purpose of the lesson

Class, if boys have a male reproductive

system what about for girls?

Yes. Theresa?
Girls have a female reproductive system
ma'am!

Very well said, Theresa!

No ma'am!

Class, do girls have a testes also?

No ma'am!

Class, do girls have a penis also?

No ma'am!

Class, do you think female and male

reproductive system have the same parts?

Very good class!

So lets tackle the parts of the female

reproductive system later.

C. Presenting examples/instances

of the lesson

Class, who can tell me what it is in the

illustration?
Yes, Jhun?

It is an illustration of a female reproductive

system, sir!

Very good, Jhun!

Can you tell me what is the name of this

part?

number 1

Yes, Yna?

It is the Ovary, ma'am!

Very good!

What about number 2? Yes Joy?

Very good, Joy! It is the Fallopian tube, ma'am!

Number 3, who can tell me?

Yes, Harry?

It is the Uterus, ma'am!

Nice one, Harry!

Let' s proceed to number 4, Yes Leo?

It is the Cervix, ma'am!

Very good, Leo!

Last number, number 5, who can tell me?

Lhea?

Excellent! The Vagina, ma'am!

Well done, class!

D. Discussing new concepts and

practicing new Skills no. 1

Now class, let study the function of every

parts of the female reproductive system.
Listen carefully because we have an activities
afterwards

Who wants to read the function of Vagina?

Yes, Kevin?
(The vagina is an organ of the female
reproductive tract. It is distensible muscular
tube which extends poster superiorly from
the external vagina orifice to the cervix.)
Good, Kevin!

What about the function of Cervix, who

wants to readit?

Yes, Niña? (The cervix produces cervical mucus that

changes in consistency during the menstrual
cycle to prevent or to promote pregnancy.
During childbirth, the cervix dilates widely
allow to the baby to pass through. During
menstruation, the cervix opens a small
amount to permit passage of menstrual flow.)

Then what about the function of Ovaries,

who wants to read?

Yes Cassy! (The ovaries produce the egg called the ova
or oocytes. The oocytes are then transported
to the fallopian tube where fertilization by a
sperm may occur.)
The function of Fallopian tubes, who wants
to read it?

Yes, Zion!
(the fallopian tubes are located in the pelvis
and function to transport eggs from the
ovaries to the uterus. This is where
fertilization occurs.)

Next Uterus, yes Gaby!

(the function of the uterus includes nurturing

the fertilized ovum that develops into the
fetus and holding it till the baby mature
enough for birth.)

Thank you, Gaby!

Well done, class!

E. Discussing new concepts

and practicing new skills no.2

The main function of the female reproductive

system is to produce eggs (ova) to be
fertilized, and to provide the space and
conditions to allow a baby to develop. For
this to happen the female reproductive
system also has the structures necessary to
allow sperm from a man to meet the ova of a
woman.

Reproductive Function
organ

Ovary -Produce Ovum

Fallopian tube -Channels ovum from the

ovary to the uterus.

-A place where
fertilization occurs.

Uterus -Accommodates and

protects the embryo.

Cervix -Connects the uterus with

the Vagina.

-Produces mucus for

sperm movements.

Vagina -Receives sperm from

the penis.

-Produces fluid for

lubrication.

F. Developing mastery

Direction: using the following list, write the

correct part of the female reproductive
system with their function. Write your
answer on your paper.

OVARIES UTERINE LINING

VAGINA CERVIX

VUVAL UTERUS

1.)________The tubes that an egg from the

ovary to the uterus.

2.)________-Hallow, Muscular tube that

leads to the opening called vulva.

3.)________-Organs where all a female' s

egg cells are stored.

4.)________-Is where the unborn baby is

developed.

5.)________-Narrow opening between the

uterus and vagina.
G.Finding practical applications of concepts
and skills in daily living

Now class I have a question.

Why it is so important to maintain the proper

hygiene of the female reproductive?

Yes Rushele!
Because maintaining a healthy vulva and
vagina will help prevent infections and
discomfort ma'am!

Very well said Rushele!

H. Making Generalization and

abstractions about the lesson

Remember that the female reproductive

system is made up of several parts and has
their on function. Female reproductive
system has FALLOPIAN TUBE OVARY,
UTERUS, CERVIX, and VAGINA.

Did you get it class?

Yes ma'am!

Very good!

How to improve your proper hygiene and washing the body often.
sanitation?
wash all over the body with a wet sponge or
cloth will do

changing into clean under ears. Dirty

underwear should be washed with laundry
soap before wearing them again

Keep the undergarments dry....

Change sanitary pads after 4-6 hours

I.Evaluating learning

Direction: Draw the female reproductive

system and name the parts.

J. Additional activities for application

or remediation

Now class, let's have an individual activity.

Activity

Direction: supply the missing letters to form

a word that is being described below. Write
the correct answer on your paper.

1. V_G___-A soft-walled tube with mucous

membrane. It is about 7 Centimeters long. It
is also called the birth canal.

2. _E___X- A muscularing that conducts the

uterus to the vagina.

3.F__L____T_B_-The passageway of the

mature egg cell from the Ovary to the uterus.
This is also where the mature egg cell. Unites
with the sperm cell.

4. _T___ S-it is where the fetus stays in nine

months until birth.

5.0_A__-itis the main female reproductive

organ.
