NARRATIVE REPORT ON PROGRESSIVE FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

Face to face learning is an instructional method where course content and learning
are taught in person to a group of students. This allow for a live interaction between a
learner and an educator.
The Department of Education has proposed the progressive expansion of limited
face-to-face classes in areas placed under Alert Levels 1 and 2. This include the Schools
Division of Ilocos Norte. Sta. Rosa Elementary School of Sarrat District is very lucky to be
included in the progressive expansion phase of face to face classes for public and private
schools.
Sta. Rosa Elementary School started the simulation of face-to- face classes on
Monday, April 4, as it gears up for the eventual return of limited face-to-face classes amid
the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic threat. The dry run was generally successful for the pupils
observed safety health protocols including the parents and teachers as well.
The said school formally conducted its limited face-to-face classes from Kindergarten
to Grade 6 level last April 12. The school has the necessary materials needed for the
implementation of limited face-to face despite the pandemic. Every room including
principal’s office is provided with thermal scanners/ temperature scanners, alcohol
dispensers, face masks, hand soaps, hand sanitizers, signages, emergency hotlines and
handwashing areas/stations at the entrance and exit of the school premises as part of the
public health and safety protocols. Likewise, social distancing among learners and teachers
are implemented.
The school children comply with Covid-19 protocols before entering their classes.
They regularly wash their hands at the washing area. Body temperature is being checked.
Each learner has an accomplished health declaration form submitted to the class adviser.
Each has an assigned sitting arrangement with a distance of one meter apart from each
other. Everybody brings their own hygiene kits and snacks to help mitigate the spread of
virus within and outside the classroom.
Teachers are happy to see their learners inside their classrooms as they recognize
the significance of face to face learning in the social development of every child. They can
see the gladness and happiness in the eyes of their pupils as face-to-face learning goes on
day by day.
As we, the teachers of Sta.Rosa Elementary School take a huge step of reintroducing
face to face classes amidst the public health situation, we are optimistic to ensure that our
learners will be safe or at least mitigate the effects of COVID-19. We continue to render our
services and deliver the best qality of education we could give to our learners amidst this
pandemic situation.
The Department of Education is bracing for an extraordinary challenging school year
due to the outbreak of corona virus disease. As
Implementation for face to face learning, some points need to be concerned. School must
rest their class capacity. Face-to-face implementation could be done step by step. In the first
2 months.
The Department of Education and LGU inspect and monitor schools and their roles.
They should be a collaboration with headmasters to discuss the implementation concretely
