poorly lit stretches into safer pathways for residents, ensuring a secure
community.
2.Project Description
2.1. Background
Additional street lighting is urgently needed, as highlighted in interviews with
the residents of Barangay Cuanos. The absence of lighting at night poses a
significant danger, particularly for those without motorized transportation.
Motorcycle accidents are frequent due to poor visibility, and residents have
expressed concerns about crimes, including vehicles slowing down and people
making inappropriate remarks. Residents, forced to traverse poorly lit stretches,
navigate with constant fear. Often, their only source of light is the flashlight on
their mobile phones or passing vehicle headlights. Therefore, this project
proposal aims to address these safety issues by introducing more lighting to the
streets. This project will be managed by the Barangay Captain, the Barangay
Council, and the SK (Sanggu1niang Kabataan) in collaboration with the Local
Government Unit.
