PRACTICAL RESEARCH 2- GROUP ACTVITY
Section:_________________ Group #:___________

MELC: The learner presents and interprets data in tabular or graphical forms (CS_RS12-IId-g-2.

READINGS
After the collection of data and treating them with appropriate statistical formulas, the presentation
follows. The commonly used tools of data presentation in quantitative research are figures, tables, and graphs.
These are tools to clearly and easily present one or more sets of data series to the readers. It also shows the
results of data analysis through statistical methods.
Before the actual presentation of data, these non-prose forms must be properly introduced or
described. Some ways of introducing graphs or tables are as follows:
1. The pie graph presented in Figure 2 shows the total number of enrolled Grade 11 senior high school
students for school year 2014 – 2015.
2. Table 4, below, shows the weighted mean of the level of validity of test papers in terms of hierarchy
of taxonomy.

GRAPHS. A graph shows relations, comparisons, and distributions in a set of data like absolute values,
percentages, or index numbers.

Basic Types of Graphs

Area. This graph shows the relationship of Column. This graph shows the differences in
different parts to a whole over time. individual values vertically.

Tables Distribution of repsondents

Tables provide exact values and illustrate according to Grade Level
results efficiently as they enable the researcher
to present large amount of data in small amount
of space. The data, usually shown as specific
numerical figures, are arranged in an orderly
display of rows and columns to aid comparison.

5. Shows gratitude to the supervisor 4.67 Very Apparent

Numbers or figures simply presented will not be easily comprehended and their significance will not be
determined without correct analysis. Analysis is the process of breaking a whole into parts. The researcher
must be critical in looking details to prove or disprove a certain theory or claim.
In analysing the data, the following must be considered:
1. The highest numerical values such as scores, weighted means, percentages, variability, etc.
2. The lowest numerical values such as scores, weighted means, percentages, variability, etc.
3. The most common numerical values like mode or values that appear repeatedly. The final numerical value
like the average weighted mean, total chi-square value, correlation index, etc.

“Reacts positively to the feedback” is the indicator with the highest weighted mean of 4.85 with an
interpretation of “Very Apparent” while the indicator, “feels Nervous” has the lowest weighted mean of
3.03 and is verbally interpreted as apparent.

Exercise Present the data in an appropriate graph. You may choose any of the graphs
mentioned above.
Research Question: How the students find answers to the questions in the modules?
