Rhyming Games
Facilitator's Role:
1. Make flashcards with different words that Sky cannot pronounce clearly.
2. Tell Sky that she will be participating in a game whereby the words could rhyme to a
given word through sound patterns.
3. Show each flashcard to Sky and practice the word articulation, highlighting the target
sounds.
4. Ask Sky to spell every word and then arrange words in groups where they rhyme
with each other. Encourage her to listen for the sound patterns.
5. Give feedback by pointing out any errors and demonstrating the correct
pronunciation of every word.
6. Repeat the process using various flashcards to give Sky chances for practicing
rhyming words identification and grouping.
1. Be ready with a set of story prompts or a starting point for the activity.
2. Tell Sky that she will be involved in this storytelling relay where stories continue to
grow.
3. Encourage Sky to add longer and more developed sentences as the story unfolds.
4. Help to expand the sentences that Sky can write and use new vocabulary.
5. Since Sky’s sentences may require some clarification, provide feedback and
