WORK IMMERSION
Work Immersion is one of the course requirements for graduation. A Senior High School
student has to undergo Work Immersion in an industry that directly relates to the student’s
postsecondary goal. Through Work Immersion, the students are exposed to and become familiar with
work-related environment related to their field of specialization to enhance their competence.
Specifically, the students are able to:
1. gain relevant and practical industrial skills under the guidance of industry experts and
workers;
2. appreciate the importance and application of the principles and theories taught in school;
3. enhance their technical knowledge and skills;
4. enrich their skills in communications and human relations;
5. develop good working habits, attitudes, appreciation, and respect for work. These prepare
them to meet the needs and challenges of employment or higher education
Assessment
The Work Immersion Teacher and the Work Immersion Partner Institution Supervisor will
jointly assess the learner’s performance following the DepEd Order No. 8, s. 2015 Policy Guidelines on
Classroom Assessment for the K to 12 Basic Education Program.

Madam:
As mandated in the DepEd no.30 Series 2018, one of the goals of the K-12 Education
program is to develop learners’ competencies, work ethics, and values relevant in pursuing
further education and/or joining the world of work. To achieve greater congruence with the basic
education and the nation’s development targets, Work Immersion, a required subject, has been
integrated in the curriculum.
This Work Immersion is one of the basic requirements for graduation in the Senior High
School which intends to provide SHS students to become familiar in the workplace, to apply
their competencies in areas of specialization in actual environment, help students gain relevant
information and practical application on the principles and theories learned in school, enhance
their knowledge and technical know-how, enrich their interpersonal skills through
communication and human interaction, develop good work habits, attitudes, appreciation and
respect towards work by providing them the opportunity to work and apply their skills and
knowledge under the supervision of their teachers.
Due to the covid 19 pandemic, DepEd recognizes other option that may equally prepare
learners:
For all tracks, schools may opt to device unique delivery model with the minimum
of 80 hours and a maximum of 320 hours following the curriculum guide.
All TVL learners shall have completed the required learning competencies of a
particular specialization before work immersion
The nominal duration of specialization for TVL shall be considered in crafting the
delivery model of the school.
In connection with this, may we request your permission to conduct an In-School Work
Immersion in Cookery, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Hairdressing and TVL- CSS
students for at least eighty (80) hours under the supervision of their respective TVL Teachers
starting February 28, 2022 onwards. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic, students will be group into a
minimum five (5) to a maximum of ten (10) for morning and afternoon session to assure social
distancing inside their Work Immersion area.
We believe that the knowledge and skills and competencies of our students will enrich
during their actual experiences in School. Teachers and students are bound to comply with the
requirements and other pertinent documents that you would like us to comply and we will
closely monitor our students to assure that they will abide with the policies, rules and
regulations of IATF.
