1. What have you accomplished so far with your Capstone Project outside of class?

I have been training for lashes extensions in white rock for two days 9am-4:30 pm. First day was on a
Saturday, October 8, 2023. We learned about the effects, after-care, placement etc. I asked one of my
friends to be one of my models, as I am required to do so. She came in exactly 1:30pm and we got
started. She wanted a natural look for her lashes, and it is called Classics, it took me about 3 hours to
finish. Because I was nervous, scared and shaking while I was doing her lashes one by one. Working
with eyes can be dangerous, for instance getting lash glue in her eyes by accident, that can be
dangerous because it can cause Corneal abrasions. If it gets in their eyes, which should always be
treated as soon as possible, run their eyes with warm water for 5-10 minutes. I have also started
training for eyebrows, Nano and Obre, and lip blushing. The first day was August 17, 2023, we learned
about the procedures, pre-care instructions, after-care, guidelines for applications, medical information,
and the effects.

2. What do you plan to accomplish by the end of next week?

I will be going to 3 of my friend’s house to do their lashes, I will not be charging a substantial number,
since I am still a beginner, but I will be charging $5-10 depending on what type they want.

3. What are your needs (time, space, materials, personal contacts etc)?

I will be looking for supplies at this store that I have in contact with on Instagram. If I can find a cheap
beauty bed, I will grab that opportunity and start from there. I will need the full day to do two people’s
eyes, for 3hrs maximum during the weekends. And after 4pm I can do one person for 3hrs max,
depending on what they want. I am planning to do home base and home service, since I do not have
any rooms left in my house to be more private, I will be asking my clients to lay on my couch and do
their process. In another words, home service is where I can go to my client's house or apartment (with
their permission) so I can do their process wherever they feel comfortable.

4. Have you encountered any obstacles or challenges so far, and how have you overcome them?
Yes, the huge challenge for me is sitting done bending over for 3 hours straight and my lower back and
neck will start to hurt. Yes, I do stretch but it will still hurt due to my positioning for hours. I love my job
and I am willing to sacrifice to give them beautiful lashes. Although I just started, I have not
encountered different people who are strangers to me. So, I look forward to getting to know each of
them and what it is like to deal with different people. I am still not certified for eyebrows, there are
some problems with my trainer. But I'm working on it.
