LETEMSOE xf Contract No. UA9/91 West Kowloon Reclamation ‘Northern Area Phase IT Date : ist March, 1993 1. Excavation 7 Excavation for box culvert will basically be open cut. If necessary, Sheet piling cofferdam will be driven in the area where connected to the sea wall outfall as shown in the attached Sketch no. UA9/tow/TH-CS/001 in the general excavation plan for this section. Excavation will start from Bay 10 and follow the sequence as shown in the attached Table 1, Surcharge at end of Bay 10 will be cut back 5m for working space. (Refer to sketch no UA9/tow/T#-CS/002) 2. Dewatering Submersible pups will be used for dewatering and to be discharged into the temporary channel. Surface water channel will be made along the edges of trench and water Pump will be added dopending on the water flow. 3. Rubble foundation Rubble will be placed secion by section to minimize the exposure of formation. 4. Formwork Timber formwork will be used for box culvert construction. ‘The arrangement would be as sketch no. UA9/tow/TW.-CS/003-004. As for formiork calculation, it will be submitted separately. 5. Concrete Concrete for each bay of box culvert will be carried out in 2 stages - 1st pour for base slab with kicker and 2nd pour for walls and top slab. Concrete pump will be used for pouring concrete. Pouring rate : 24 cu.m. per hour. 6. Curing Water curing covered with polythene sheet would be provided. 7. Back-filling Backfilling will be carried out as soon as stripping off the internal formwork is completed. ‘Temporary water channel will be diverted so as to suit the actual site condition.
