All as referred to Drawings nos. 91800/203/1004B and 91800/204/1012A. According to the Contract, different Portions of Areas will be made available at different times. It therefore follows that the aforementioned works activities will be commenced and proceeded in difference stages as described hereafter. 2. STAGES OF WORKS 2.7 Stage 1 (Enclosed layout plan S-1 refers) 2A temporary access road will be formed, starting from Portion L9 and running along existing chuin-Link fence of Portion W29 to the toe of existing slope where it will branch to two lanes, One will be extended uphill along crest of existing slope, while the other will be extended along lower mid-level of hillside These two branch-off8 will allow slope cutting works started from top of hill/slope and hard excavated materials stockpiled at toe of hill in following stages of works. Existing chain-link fence will be removed as thay are found to be in adverse condition, A new chain-link fence will be erected upon completion of forming aforementioned accesses, both uphill and along bw iy hillside. 2.2 Stage 2 (Enclosed layout plan S-2 refers) 2.2.1 Slope cutting and slope drainage work will be started and proceeded from the top of hill and down ta level of about +30mPD. Method Statement for Works in Areas 11 /60 (€V2006.00 Infrastructure for Penny's Bay Development ~Contract 1 22.2 Sofi excavaied materials will be delivered and used for landscape berm construction. 2.2.3 Hand excavated materials will be stockpiled near toe of slope/dowahill, along existing waterfront and at a level high enough to be away from tidal effect. 2.2.4 Stabilization works Le. installation of rock dowels and rock bolts, or wire mesh will be cartied out whenever/wherever access is available, and the adjacent slope cutting works reach certain leveis which allow forming such access being possible, 2.3, Sunge 3 (Enclosed layout plan S-3 refers) 231 ling works will commence upon possession of Portions L4 and W4, 2,32 Another temporary access road will be formed by filling with excavated materials in this stage for linking up the cutting area and the filling ares, which are being separated by Portion W29 2.3.3 Excavated materials from slope cutting will be used for filling wor 2.3.4 — Another access for stabilization work will also be formed for securing the progress of stabilization works. 2.4. Stage 4 (Enclosed layout plan $4 refers) New items of works for this stage will be filling works at Portion L10. Slope cutting will be proceeded downbill and to design toe level once possession of Portion L10 is possible. 2.4.3. Hard excavated materials from slope cutting works will be temporarily stockpiled in Portion L10. 24.4 — Earth bund and associated works as shown in drawing no. 91800/204/L012A will be also commenced in this stage. a._WORKS DETAILS 3.1 Temporary Access Road (Enclosed layout plan AR-1, print-outs AR-2 te 5 and sketch AR-6 refer) 3.1.1 Temporary access road uphill will be formed by cutting and minor filling with excavated materials gained on its way uphill, Width of this access road will be maintained for about 4.0m as practical as possible. Method Statement for Works in Areas 11 / 6D CV2000/00 Infrastructure for Penny's Bay Development Contract | 312 Temporary access road elong/round hillside will be formed hy filling and minoreutting. Filling will be done with band excavated gained on its \way and from uphill road cutting. Similar width will be maintained as aforementioned for uphill road. In order to prevent excavated materials from rolling down to waterfront, the access road will be formed with rocks as an underlay j,¢. road-base and fata significant distance/height away from waterfront. Particular attention will be paid to have a gentle verge for securing the stability against tidal effect 3.2. Slope Cutting 321 Cutting work will be commenced at top of hill in berm by berm immediately upon completion of forming access rond. Cutting work will be carried out in accordance with Sections shown in drawing no, 91900/203/1014C Setting out will be done prior to physical commencement of cutting works. Cutting will be done in general by backhoe, with completion of profile done manually with assistance from fight plant. Slope drainage works will be commenced upon completion of cutting for each berm. Temporary ditches or the like will be provided against washing out by surface runoff, particularly for slope having berm eut to design profile with permanent drainage work not yet completed. ‘Temporary sand trap(s} will be constructed by digging and surface runofT will be led to sand trap(s) before discharging to nearby existing watercourse. Vegetation removal and site clearance prior 10 physical cutting work will be limited to cutting zone with disturbance to its vieinity be kept to minimum, The temporary access roads will be used for transportation of materials for execution and completion of slope cutting and slope drainage works, Plastic sheets will be used for covering completed slope surface if necessary. Excavated materials will be used for landseape berm construction, 3.3 Filling Works 334 Filling works will be commenced once Portion Areas are made available and accessible.
