Ika-119 Taong Anibersaryo ng Pagkakatatag ng PNU, Sinimulan nang Ipagdiwang

Pormal nang sinimulan ng buong pamayanan ng Pamantasang Normal ng Pilipinas ang isang
buwang pagdiriwang nito ng ika-119 taong anibersaryo ng pagkakatatag kanina, ika-1 ng Setyembre.

Ang nasabing pagbubukas na programa ay isinagawa sa birtwal na palatuntunan gamit ang

Zoom at ipinalabas nang live sa PNU Facebook Page.

Sa unang bahagi ay nagbahagi ng pambukas na mensahe si Dr. Madonna C. Gonzales, Outgoing

Faculty Regent at kasunod nito’y ipinakilala at sumumpa ang mga bagong halal na opisyales ng unyon
ng fakulti mula sa iba’t-ibang kampus ng PNU na pinangunahan ni Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno,
butihing alkalde ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

"We cannot be defeated by this dreadful disease or virus by living in fear. We must now learn to
live with COVID-19 and at the same time, we must learn to go back to work safely. Again, this is the start
of your duties and responsibilities after this oath. Mayroon kayong duties sa inyong mga kasamahan at
mga miyembro at naniniwala naman akong kaya niyo itong gawin,” ani Mayor Isko.

Samantala, sa huling parte ng birtwal na programa ay binati muna ni Dr. Bert J. Tuga, President
ng PNU ang buong pamayanan ng pamantasan at taus puso nitong pinasalamatan si Mayor Isko.

Sa kabilang banda ay ibinigay naman ni Dr. Tuga ang kanyang panghamon na mensahe para sa
mga opisyales ng unyon ng fakulti.

“As mentioned in my previous speech, I highlighted the management values, open

communication, dialogue, sectoral participation, and democratic governance, we believe that we have
the common dream for the university and we need each other to make that dream a reality. I challenge
you to be pro active in all situations, and to put forward the welfare of the university as we sustain the
well being of our faculty and students. I challenge you to be creative and innovative as you plan for new
programs and activities that will benefit your members. I challenge you to be vigilant if there are
moments that we in the management forget the very values that we uphold in the university-truth,
excellence and service. As I end please do remember that we are partners and as partners we have our
similarities and differences, we also have our common interest and individual interest. In this situation,
we have to compromise and meet half way for the good of all. Sometimes, we may also agree to
disagree but at the end of the day we should make sure that PNU wins. Maraming salamat sa inyong
lahat and to the officers, congratulations,” ani Dr. Tuga.

Alinsunod sa Pamantasang Memorandum bilang 172, serye 2020, ang nasabing selebrasyon na
may temang, “Alab ng Sulo sa Bagong Kadaywan:Paggunita, Pagkakaisa, Pagsulong” ay gaganapin sa
buong buwan ng Setyembre 2020 at pangungunahan ng Pamamahala ng mga Kaganapang
Pampamantasan at Ugnayang Pampubliko (UEMPRO) sa pakikiisa ng mga Kolehiyo, Instituto, Fakulti,
Yunit, Tanggapan at Organisasyong Pang Mag-aaral ng Pamantasan.
