IN THE HOTEL INDUSTRY” (Eastern Samar State University, Guiuan, Eastern

Eastern Samar Sate University
Guiuan, Eastern Samar

The main objective of the study was to examine the relationship between the

perception and preferences of the ESSU-Guiuan Hospitality Management students

towards working in the hotel Industry. A descriptive correlation research design was

employed in the study. It was conducted in Eastern Samar State University Guluan

Campus during the first semester, S.Y. 2021-2022. A survey questionnaire with two

(2) parts was the main tool in gathering for the data. Using the simple random

sampling, a total of 200 Hospitality Management students participated in the study.

Frequency counts, percentages, weighted mean was used in analyzing the data.

While Pearson's correlation was used in testing the hypothesis of the study.

From the results of the study, it was found out that there was no significant

relationship between the perception and preferences of Hospitality Management

students of ESSU-Guiuan towards working in the hotel industry.

Based on the findings of the study, the following were the recommendations:

1. Hotels may provide industrial trainees with good amount of learning opportunities

which will encourage them to join hotel jobs after they graduate.

2. It is recommended that during their training students may get the opportunity to

work in all the various departments of the hotel in order to realize the responsibility

ahead when working in the hotels in the future.

3. A similar study may be conducted to validate the findings of the present study.
