I. Objectives:

At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:

1. Perform music from the Visayas, with accompaniment; MU7LV-IIb-g-6

2. Use “guitar’’ as local instrument to accompany selected music of the Cordillera,


Mindoro, Palawan and of the Visayas; DCLR/DCLM – VI-B7

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Music of the Visayas Region

Materials: Laptop computer, LED television, Guitar

References: Music and Art book pp.79-82

Value: Appreciate the importance of Visayan Music

III. Procedure:

A. Preparation

1. Review

 The teacher will make sure that the chairs are properly arranged, and never allow
any students to use cellphones during the class/session.
*Established safe and secure learning environment to enhance learning through
the consistent implementation of policies, guidelines, and procedures.
 The teacher will show pictures of different musical instruments of MIMAROPA.
 The teacher will ask the students to answer the names of the different musical
instrument from the given pictures by applying the Morse code and time table as
instructed by the teacher in the slide deck presentation.
*1.Apply a knowledge of content within and across curriculum teaching areas
(Math) has been applied.
*2.Used a ranged of teaching strategies that enhance learner achievement in
literacy and numeracy skills.

 The teacher will ask question regarding the previous lesson and the students will
be given a few seconds to answer.
 How important are the musical instruments to the lives of the people living
in MIMAROPA?

*3.Apply a range of teaching strategies to develop critical and creative thinking,


as well as other higher-order thinking skills;

2. Motivation

 The teacher will introduce some popular Visayan folksongs to the students using the
LED TV.
*8.Selected, developed, organized and used appropriate teaching and learning
resources, including ICT, to address learning goals;
*Ensure the Positive use of ICT to facilitate the teaching and learning process

 The class will be divided into 3 groups. The teacher will choose/assign a song to each
group to perform. (songs that are assigned to the group were already been
introduced and played last meeting but without the presence of the guitar as a
medium for the accompaniment to be used later on)
*7.Planned, managed and implemented developmentally sequenced teaching and
learning processes to meet curriculum requirements and varied teaching contexts.

3. Setting of Objectives

The teacher will present the learning objectives to the class.

B. Presentation

1. Preparatory Activity

 The teacher will instruct the groups to listen and familiarize the song they were
assigned to.
 Each group will be given 3 minutes to prepare for their presentation in a form of
singing contest.
 The teacher will provide a rubric to each group.
 The teacher will select whom will be the first, the second and the third group to
perform. If there are students who fail to perform or hardly performed the task the
teacher will encourage them and give chances to complete their activity.
*Maintained a learning environments that promote fairness, respect and care to
encourage learning.

 If there are students who can’t perform due to or it is against the students’ religious
beliefs, or if there are students with diverse cultural background, the teacher will
give the students a chance to make the activity and provide a contextualized
instructions for them.
*Established a learner-centered culture by using teaching strategies that respond
to their linguistic, cultural, socio-economic and religious backgrounds.

*Adapted and used culturally appropriate teaching strategies to address the needs
of learners from indigenous group.

Note:

 The teacher will use a U-shape chair arrangement/formation to encourage


participation among learners. In this classroom structure, the floor space in
the center can be used by the teacher to instruct and manage the students.
* Manage classroom structure to engage learners, individually or in
groups, in meaningful exploration, discovery and hands-on activities
within a range of physical learning environments has been applied.

2. Analysis

 At the end of the activity, the teacher will ask the students about the essence of folk
songs to the lives of the Visayan people and to the new generation?
 The teacher will give a short discussion to correct misconception.

3. Abstraction

 The teacher will give a brief discussion about the importance of Visayan folksongs.
*Displayed proficient use of Mother Tongue, Filipino and English to facilitate
teaching and learning.
 After a brief discussion, the teacher will ask questions to random students.

4. Application

Activity Proper:

 The teacher will now instruct the group to present/perform their assigned Visayan
folksong.
 The teacher will tell the group to make sure to follow the given rubrics to be able to
win the singing contest.
 The teacher will accompany each group using the guitar, while performing, as a
medium for the accompaniment.
 The teacher must remind the students never to use a copper string, only nylon string
must be used for the students who will perform/play the guitar especially to those
who have a soft fingertip to avoid being injured.
*Established safe and secure learning environment to enhance learning through
the consistent implementation of policies, guidelines, and procedures.
