1. Introductory Activities (5 minutes).

2. Activity/ Strategy (5 minutes).


To arouse interest and curiosity among the students, which will lead them to
further involvement, the teacher will give preparatory game for the students that
will prepare them to the new topic. The teacher will let the students stand and
give directions to them using their body movements.

Direction:
Everybody are expected to stand while putting on a blindfold and then follow
the direction that the teacher will be instructing.
1. Raise your right hand.
2. Now raise your left hand.
3. Step your left foot forward.
4. Put your right hand on your left armpit.
5. Now remove your blindfold and repeat your last pose.

3. Analysis (3 minutes).
After the activity, the teacher will ask the students the following questions:
1. Were you able to follow the instructions well?
2. Do you find it hard to follow the instructions?
3. Do you know how to follow instructions?

4. Abstraction (25 minutes).


The teacher will explain to the class that the previous activity was all about
following instructions using a map. Then, the prepositions and basic sign and
symbols will be discussed using a PowerPoint presentation.

Follow-up Questions:
1. Why is it important to follow instructions while using a map?
2. How can directions affect when following the map?
3. Why following a direction using a map important?

5. Application (5 minutes)
To promote the acquisition of knowledge and familiarize students with new
concepts, the teacher will give them a practice activity, which they will answer
correctly. In this activity, students will select a partner freely. Then the teacher
will provide an activity utilizing a map and instructions and they will follow the
instructions in it.

Scoring Method: Every directions that was fulfilled in the map is equivalent to
two (2) points. However, if the direction in the map was not fulfilled, there will
be a deduction of one (1) point. A total of twenty (20) points, plus 4 to the total
score.

Instructions: Follow the directions in the activity sheet.

6. Assessment (15 minutes)


To determine whether students have learned what they were expected to learn
and unto what degree they have learned the lesson they have been taught, the
teacher will provide an assessment in which the students will incorporate their
knowledge and understanding of the proper usage of the map and how to follow
the instructions given. In this assessment, the teacher will distribute the printed
materials for the student to answer.
