5. Remove the fixing nut (7) from terminal 50 using a 10mm socket.

6. Remove the two fixing screws (8) from the IMS.

8. Remove the fixing nut (10) from terminal 30b using either 17mm or 21mm socket (5).

9. Remove the three solenoid fixing screws (11) using an M5 allen wrench (12).

10. Remove the brush plate fixing screws (13) with a 1/4 inch socket (14).

11. Remove the through bolts (15) with a 10mm socket (16).

12. Press the bearing (17) with hand to remove parts on the right.

13. Inspect the thrust ball (18), brush plate assembly (19), field coil assembly (20), and the armature
and bearing assembly (21) parts for wear.

14. Remove the gear box cover (22).

15. Remove the planet gear (23) and the box seal (24).

16. Remove the rubber seal (25), steel bowl (26), and the nylon block (27).

17. Knock out the retainer collar (29) using a cylindrical sleeve tool (28), knocking the shaft into the
cylinder (30) placed beneath the drive end.

18. Use a pair of sharp needle nose pliers (31) to prop up the circlip to remove the pinion, spring,
retainer collar, and the circlip.

19. Remove the drive end housing (33), and the drive assembly internal gear ring assembly and lever
assembly (32).
