E. NARRATIVE
On January 6, 2021 , in response to the unfolding situation at the US Capitol, Sergeant Johnnie Barnes of the Youth and Family Services Division
deployed from his ISB traffic post to the US Capitol after Cruiser 50 called an area wide 10-33. Upon arrival, Sergeant Barnes assisted, pushing a
group out on the lower level and then responded to the top entrance of the inaugural steps.

During the deployment, to the top entrance of the inaugural steps, members of the crowd attempted to breach the police line with force by assaulting
law enforcement officers with blunt objects. While holding the line and assisting in repelling assailants, Sergeant Barnes deployed ASP Strikes,
Straight Strikes and utilized Hand Controls. The individuals in question were able to return to the crowd and avoid identification or apprehension.
