 One of the oldest means of entertainment, and today people often
hear it to find out the weather and traffic while commuting.
 Radio has had a significant impact on pop culture since its inception.
It has been instrumental in the spread of different types of music,
including country and rock, which owe their popularity and even
existence to early radio programs that publicized new forms.
 Radio has also been a vital link to information and had the power to
influence people’s opinions in a way that had never been seen
before.
3. Film
 Movies (films) are the oldest form of motion picture technology
capable of capturing lifelike video-style images. Originally, movies
could only be consumed at a neighbourhood movie theatre, but
these days movies are widely available for people to consume in
their homes, on their computers, and even in through their
telephones.
 Commercial movies are broadcast on television, and via cable and
satellite services which may feature High Definition (HD) video
resolution and sound, essentially allowing the movie theatre
experience to be replicated in a home theatre environment.
Commercial movies are also distributed on DVD and Blu-Ray disks,
which can be rented from stores and through-the-mail services such
as Netflix, and through downloadable computer files, which can be
legally downloaded from movie rental services such as Amazon and
iTunes or streamed through Netflix or on-demand cable services.
 Films have a significant impact on pop culture. They reflect the
culture of the time and place in which they were made, and they can
influence the way people think and behave. Movies can introduce
new trends, slangs, and fashion styles that people tend to follow.
They can also help us understand different cultures and ways of life.
 Films can be used to convey a message from the creator to the
audience. Pop culture references are frequently found in both art and
film, which help the artwork and movie ‘speak’ to an audience,
drawing them in and helping to convey a message from the work’s
creator.
 Films connect with pop culture by reflecting the culture of the time
and place in which they were made, introducing new trends, slangs,
and fashion styles, helping us understand different cultures and
ways of life, and conveying messages from creators to audiences.
