CHECKLIST FOR TEMPORARY VISITOR - JAPAN eVISA

(Tourism. Period of stay: up to 90 days)

As listed on eVISA site Description of the items required


Facial photo ID photo, taken within the last 6 months. Photo must have a plain background.

Passport Valid passport - an image of the ID page (the page which shows your photo, name,
DOB etc.)

Itinerary with flight Flight information for journey to and from Japan (if not yet booked, skip to next
information category)

Documents to prove the Bank statements covering the last 3 months to show sufficient funds for the
ability to pay for travel proposed trip. If your 3 months’ bank statements exceed the maximum file size
expenses that can be uploaded, you could instead provide documents (e.g. the first page of
your bank statements) which state the account holder’s name and the monthly
balance for the last 3 months. Note: Credit card statement is not acceptable.

Schedule of stay Detailed Schedule of Stay for the proposed trip, including places and activities
planned during your journey (Sample).

Hotel information Booking confirmation for your accommodation during your stay in Japan. If it
exceeds the maximum file size that can be uploaded, please provide at least your
first accommodation, then as many of any subsequent accommodation bookings
as possible (if not yet booked, skip to next category).

Certificate of enrolment Letter from employer or academic institution in the UK (issued within the last 3
/ employment months) certifying your employment/enrolment. Note: Job offer letter, payslip or
school/university offer letter/tuition fee receipt etc, is not acceptable .

Document to prove Proof of valid UK Residence Permit/Entry Clearance, in the form of one of the
legal residency following:
i. BRP card (both sides).
ii. UK Residence Permit/Entry Clearance in passport
iii. 'Your immigration status' screenshot from https://www.gov.uk/view-prove-
immigration-status showing your name, ID photo, immigration status.

Parental consent form If the applicant is under 18, please provide a parental consent letter.
(if applicable)
Letter of authorisation If the application is being submitted by a proxy, the applicant must provide an
(if applicable) authorisation letter.

In some cases, additional supporting documents and/or an in-person interview at the Embassy
of Japan in the UK may be required.

JPG, GIF, TIF, HEIC etc (bitmap image files): multiple files can be uploaded per category.
PDF files: only one file can be uploaded more than one file per category.

PLEASE PREPARE ALL THE IMAGES AND DOCUMENTS BEFORE YOU LOG IN TO START
YOUR APPLICATION.
Once you’ve reached STEP 2 Basic information, please upload your ID photo and passport image.
