Set up, trial and carry out NDT on all welds for the pipeline project

BASIC JOB STEP POTENTIAL HAZARD RECOMMENDED ACTION OR PROCEDURE

Perform tool box talk prior to work commencing to discuss the


work in hand and finalise the JSA and PPE requirements.
Review work scope None - precaution
Ensure all PPE is available along with adequate First Aid kit
and fire extinguishers.

Lifting and moving equipment may cause injury to personnel


Move crawler or machine into position for weld  Wear hard hat, safety boots and gloves as minimum
and/or damage to property
 Minimise number of personnel near the operation

 Ensure lock is in place before entering shot zone


 Ensure area is cordoned off and watchman is in place
Gamma Ray Radiation Exposure
 Radiation badge to be worn and record kept of daily
reading.

 Designated area secure for holding sources


Radiation Exposure
 Response plan to be submitted to cover this issue.
Handling and storage of Radiation sources
Lost Radiation source  Film Badge registration and daily record by NDT
company as preventative measure to exposure

 If NDT performed at welding yard then ensure area is


cordoned off and work is controlled by experienced
radiographic technician who possesses the necessary
