PUMP SPECIFICATION
Rotation: Clockwise.
Governor type: Mechanical all-speed.
Gov. Link Length: 41.5 ± 0.5 mm.
Governor spring position : 1 480W/483W
Governor spring position : 2 484W/488W
Plunger Diameter: 7.0 mm (4 off).
Drive Type: Supported shaft.
Transfer pressure adjuster in end plate.
Viscosity compensating device in end plate.
Advance Type: Pressure End Cold Servo Advance (PECSA)
Scroll plate max. fuel delivery adjustment.
Torque trimmer.
Solenoid voltage: See Service Instruction Note DT294.

ISO TEST CONDITIONS.


This data is only valid for the test conditions specified and the
following test benches: HA3000/HA2500/HA700/AVM/PGM
Test Fluid: ISO 4113 at 40 ± 2°C.
Inlet feed pressure: 0.3 bar
Backleak pressure: 0 bar
Nozzles: BDL0S6844
Nozzle Opening Pressure: 172 + 3 - 0 bar.
Nozzle Holder: ISO 7440 + YDB288 Edge filter assy.
H.P. pipes: 6 x 2 x 600 mm (ISO 4093.1).

PRE-TEST NOTES
Screw transfer pressure adjuster fully in and then 9.5 turns
out before commencing test.
Advance Reading: Off the cam ring.
A 3.0mm shim is fitted to the piston spring cap on assembly.
After adjustment, shimming to be. 1.0 to 4.0 mm.
Wax motor to be energised unless otherwise stated.
Turn differential valve fully in
Torque trimmer plug to be wound out until thread appears.
Latch Valve Adjuster, if fitted, early design - to be flush
with locknut. Later design - screw fully in then 6 turns out

ISO TEST PROCEDURE


Test Operation S/C RPM Requirements
1. Priming (C) 100 Obtain delivery from all injectors
and backleak.
2. Stabilisation (C) 500 Operate throttle lever 5 times.
3. Stabilisation, S/C 1050 TP 6.34 bar(92 psi)
and initial Max. fuel delivery to
settings. 67.0 ± 1.0 mm3/stroke.
Run pump for 3 minutes to stabilise.
When adjusting transfer pressure, adjusting tool must be
disengaged before taking a reading. See SIN D032.
4. Cambox Press. (C) 1050 0.3 to 0.83 bar( 5 to 12psi)
5. Advance (S) 500 0° (Datum advance gauge)
6. Advance (C) 1050 0.5° ( 0.3 mm). Max.
7. Advance (S) 1050 3.5 ° (2.1 mm)
Adjust diff. valve
8. Back leakage. (C) 1050 33 to 81 cm3 per 100 strokes.
Flow rate 350 to 850 cm3/min.
9. Cambox Press. (C) 700 0.21 to 0.83 bar( 3 to 12psi)
10. Advance - (S) 700 3.8 to 4.2 ° ( 2.3 to 2.6 mm).
Light load 24.0 ± 9.0 mm3/st.Use throttle.
Press at test(9 ) + 4.14 to 4.83bar
(Press at test(9 )+ 60 to 70psi)
Use TP adjuster.
11. Transfer Press. (C) 1050 Press at test(4 ) + 4.9to 5.72bar
(Press at test(4 )+ 71 to 83psi)
If incorrect repeat from test (10).
12. Advance (S) 1050 3.5 ° (2.1 mm)
Adjust diff. valve
13. Advance - (C) 700 0.5 to 0.9 ° ( 0.3 to 0.5 mm).
Light load 35.0 ± 15.0 mm3/st.Use throttle.
If incorrect repeat from test (10).
14. Advance - (C) 1050 7.0 to 7.4 ° ( 4.3 to 4.5 mm).
Light load 22.0 ± 12.0 mm3/st.Use throttle.
If incorrect repeat from test (10).
15. Advance - (C) 1050 5.8 to 6.2 ° ( 3.5 to 3.7 mm).
Light load 27.0 ± 12.0 mm3/st.Use throttle.
If incorrect repeat from test (10).
16. Transfer Press. (C) 100 Minimum 0.7 bar, ( 10psi).
Stop test machine.
Remove pressure gauges and fit stop solenoid or plug.
17. Advance (S) 1050 3.5 ° (2.1 mm)
Adjust diff. valve
18. Max. Delivery (S) 1050 67.0 ± 0.5 mm3/st.
Max. spread 7.0 mm3/st.
19. Delivery (S) 1050 68.5 ± 0.5 mm3/st.
Set by torque trimmer cam plug
20. Delivery (C) 900 As test (19) + 8.0 ± 2.0 mm3/st.
21. Delivery (C) 750 As test (19) + 10.0 ± 2.0 mm3/st.
If incorrect repeat from test (19).
22. Delivery (C) 1050 As test (19) ± 0.5 mm3/st.
23. Delivery (C) 1070 Record delivery mm3/st.
24. Governor (S) 1135 8.0 to 16.0 mm3/st.
25. Gov. cut-off (C ) 1165 Maximum 4.0 mm3/st.
26. Delivery (C) 1070 Minimum as test (23) - 1.5 mm3/st.
Close throttle.
27. Delivery (C) 435 Maximum 4.0 mm3/st.
28. Idle delivery (S) 435 12.0 to 14.0 mm3/st. Throttle closed.
29. Delivery (C) 560 Throttle as test(28) Max. 4.0 mm3/st
30. Delivery (C) 100 Minimum 72.0 mm3/st.

If incorrect, adjust latch valve screw & lock or change plug if
fitted. Repeat from test (31).
33. Exhaust brake (C) 500 Exhaust brake closed. Max. 4.0 mm3/st
(If fitted)
34. Shut-off - (C) 500 De-energise solenoid, wait 5 seconds.
Solenoid Max. 4.0 mm3/st.
Stop test machine.
De-energise wax motor and wait 5 mins
35. Advance (C) 700 3.5° ( 2.1 mm). Min.
Energise wax motor.
36. Advance (C) 700 0.5° ( 0.3 mm). Max.
37. Advance (S) 1050 3.5 ° (2.1 mm)
Adjust diff. valve
Stop test machine.
Remove wax motor and fit tool 7244-631.
38. Timing S/C Outlet 'Z ', Pressure 55 bar.
Indicator plate offset 5.5° in pump
rotation. To centralise bubble rotate
driveshaft against pump rotation.
Tighten shaft locking screw 13.0Nm.
39. Timing S/C Indexing tool set to 40.0 ± 0.5°
For validation:
Remove tool 7244-631 and re-fit wax motor.

FUEL AND SPEED SETTING AND VARIATIONS IN ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
