TECHNOLOGY IN TEACHING & LEARNING 1 (ED8)

APPLICATION OF ASSURE MODEL, DIGITAL BLOOM’S TAXONOMY & GAGNE’s 9 EVENTS OF

INSTRUCTION

I. Apply the ASSURE Model. Think of a hypothetical group of earners. Design a lesson good for an hour by writing a brief outline of the
plan. Explain how ASSURE MODEL has helped in the process of designing it. Discuss the rationale of the decision on the selection of
materials, technology, tools learning and assessment activities.

(Activity lifted from Bilbao et al. (2019). Technology for Teaching and Learning 1. Lorimar Publications)

GRADE LEVEL:

Elements in an instructional design What is it? Explain the reason for the decision in
relation to the ASSURE Model

Learning Activities (list at least 2) -
Assessment Activities (list at least 2): 1. -

II. Using the same Grade Level and Lesson Topic from Part 1, develop a lesson objective using Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy. Indicate one
objective, one expected digital skill for the student and the website to be used to enhance the student’s expected digital skill per indicator.

REVISED Targeted Objective Possible digital skill or activities Website to be used

BLOOM’S
TAXONOMY
1. Remembering
2. Understanding
3. Analyzing
4. Applying
5. Evaluating
6. Creating

III. Using the same Grade Level and Lesson Topic from Part 1, use only one objective from part 2 and apply Gagne’s 9 events of instruction.
(See the provided example below. Example lifted from: https://www.instructionaldesign.org/theories/conditions-learning/)

Math Grade 3 Learning Outcome: Recognize an equilateral triangle

1. Gain attention – show variety of computer generated triangles

2. Identify objective – pose question: “What is an equilateral triangle?”
3. Recall prior learning – review definitions of triangles
4. Present stimulus – give definition of equilateral triangle
5. Guide learning- show example of how to create equilateral
6. Elicit per formance – ask students to create 5 different examples
7. Provide feedback – check all examples as correct/incorrect
8. Assess performance- provide scores and remediation
9. Enhance retention/transfer – show pictures of objects and ask students to identify equilaterals
