Class 9 IC – 23/10/23

Hi SBL Champions,

We have a short visit from Darth Vader coming – next Wednesday, 1st November… use this
time wisely.
Now is the time to put in the necessary work to get to Basecamp 2 before the end of the
month. There is no option except working on this everyday from now on.
Make sure by Basecamp 2:
1. the short vids are completed
2. your Activity Workbook is up to speed – submit Recalls and Reflections on Moodle
3. Mock 2 is prepared
4. Mock 2 done on Saturday

I got a very interesting email from a student this morning – maybe you might relate to it:

Hi Owen,

I'm really struggling with Mock 2 tasks.

I have no problem with the structure of the answers but I find it very difficult to fill out the
actual answers and make it sound NOT GENERIC. I feel I just waffle about stuff that can be
related to any industry and also I can't make my answers 3 lines long and explain all I want to

say so I end up writing to much but probably scoring 0 marks

Mock 1 topic was so much easier to relate to the industry for me.

I'm not sure what's on the agenda for today's class but
I was wondering if we could do one of the tasks from in full in the class? Or maybe you could
advise how I can improve my writing skills?
English is not my first language so maybe that's an issue too.
Thanks for the lectures I find them great!!

So let’s use tonight’s class to focus on Mock 2 and the issues in this email.

See you tonight.

Keep going - you can do this!
Best regards,
Owen
