Simple Past Tense

How to form Verb 2:

Positive Form
Rule #1: add -ed after a verb
S + V2 (+) Walk – walked
I baked a cake. Talk – talked
Review – reviewed

Rule #2: verb ended with -e, simply add -d.


Use – used
Vote – voted
Negative Form Bake – baked
S + did not + V1 Rule #3: verb ending with -y,replace -y with -i and then
I didn’t bake a cake. add -ed
Reply – replied
Cry – cried
Copy – copied

Interogative Form
Did + S + V1 (?)
Did I bake a cake?

How to form Irregular verb :

there’s no pattern, verb 2 is completely different from


verb 1
Eat – ate Adverb of time:
Drink – drank last - , yesterday, - ago, just now
