1. What is Sociology?

Looking at how different groups in society act, why they do it, and how it affects everyone.
For example, studying how fair or unfair things are for people based on gender, minority
status, race, and so on.

2. What are the different social institutions?

Education – we have many schools here in Philippines under the institution of DEPED and
CHED.
Religion - In the Philippines, we have various religions, each following its own rules.
Medical - We have hospitals, but they all follow regulations set by the Department of Health
(DOH).

3. How has the notion of social inequality changed over centuries?

Things have gotten better over the years in treating everyone fairly. We're doing well in
giving women and farmers the same chances. We're also okay in providing education for
lower-income people. However, I think no matter what we do, we can only make sure
everyone has a fair chance, not the same results for everyone.

4. What effects do social movements and public opinion have on state politics?

Speaking freely in the Philippines can make a big difference in making things fair for
everyone. But nowadays, some people say hurtful things when they talk freely, and that can
cause problems.
