This procedure covers the method for acting for identification, handling, storage, and disposal of waste without
causing harm to human beings.
2.0 SCOPE
It is applicable for all types of waste.

5.1 Identification of Hazardous Materials
5.1.1 A master list of all materials & their Material Safety Data Sheet used inside the organization shall be kept with
the QHSE Representative. A material is decided to be Hazardous based on the information available in the
MSDS & rules framed by the Government or Other Regulatory Body.
5.1.2 Wherever required suppliers will be asked to provide guidelines for handling, storage & disposal of hazardous
substances supplied by them.
5.1.3 Identify all hazardous material by visible marking on the containers. This shall be ensured by the QHSE
Representative.
5.2 Waste Disposal
5.2.1 Generated solid wastes are segregated at the point of generation. At each generation point, three separate bins
are identified for
 Hazardous wastes
 Contractors approved by the Regulatory Body are engaged for collection and disposal of the above
segregated wastes.
 Hazardous solid wastes are seggregated, disposed of & records kept.
 Empty Cans, Barrels, bags which used to contain hazardous material are cleaned thoroughly & disposed
for recycling or reuse.
 All hazardous material at work sites will be handled as per Site Material Management Procedure approved
by the customer/clients or MSC will follow Client’s / Main Contractor own procedures.
