Description of the incident:

Chief Electrician Rig-117 had a small cat bite that penetrated through his glove and made a small scratch on his hand.
They were rig moving and discovered a cat had found a way inside the VFD building and were trying to move it out when
it became defensive and tried to bite.

The medic examined The IP cleaned it with fresh water and antiseptic solution and referred the IP to PAC clinic for
further treatment and first aid done and IP resumed back to work after discharge by PDO doctor.

Sequence of events (the time he started working in the morning until the incident
happened and recovery status):
• On Monday 18th Dec 2023 during rig move time, around 8:30 am, IP prepare tools and open the cover of UPS cabin for some pre-job to save time, then go
outside to disconnect cables.

• At 10:00 the IP finish outside job and plan to replace UPS in VFD.

• At 10:10 the IP found the cat inside the UPS cabin under the ground.

• At 10:20 try to use the stick and get the cat out from the cabin but it was afraid and didn’t move.

• At 10:25 Found the cat out and hide under the cover

• At 10:28 Suddenly the cat move and without thinking the IP try to catch the cat to avoid get more trouble.

• At 10:30 The cat fight and try to Espec so the IP got bite in his hand.

• At 10:35 The IP open the door and the cat go out directly

• At 10:38 The IP go to rig medic and get first aid treatment.

• At 11:00 The IP went to PAC clinic to be and checked and released by the doctor.

• At 12:14 The IP returned to Rig site and resume the job

Cat located during the incident While all doors are equipped with self-closing mechanisms
it seems that these specific top doors are being left open
potentially allowing cats to enter. During the winter cats
often seek warmer spaces.
