Affirmative Form Meaning: Would + like + Noun / Bare Infinitive
A more polite way of expressing desire for something or asking for something than saying “I want”,
usually used in restaurants and shops. It is not to be confused with “To like” something which is
entirely different in meaning, expressing affection or fondness of something.
Negative Form: Wouldn’t like + Noun / Bare Infinitive
Usually used with the contracted form of ‘not’ expresses a polite way to decline something or doing
something
Interrogative Form: Would + Sb + Like + Noun / Bare Infinitive
A polite way of asking someone if they want something or want to do something or a polite way of
inviting someone to do something. ITTC Diploma in TESOL
Affirmative Form Meaning: “I’ll have + Noun”
