using animated
images.
d. Compose texts

element
Thank you, Nikka. Those are the

(the video will flash on the

Did you get an idea on what is

multimodal texts is? Yes ma’am.

Now, I have something to impart

to you. Who wants to read it?
Yes, Mia? Communication is not only

voice and letters. It does
not limit its purpose to
written and verbal text.
Communication uses
multimodal. When
technology came into this
world, different modes of
communication came to
existence. They are called
multimodal.
Many texts are multimodal
where meaning is
communicated through
combinations of two or more
modes. Modes include written
language, spoken language, and
patterns of meaning.

Multimodal texts include picture

books, text books, graphic
novels, comics, and posters,
where meaning is conveyed to
the reader through varying
combinations of different modes.
Can you follow, class? Yes, ma’am.

Okay, good. So now, we will

proceed to the different
elements or modes of
multimodal text. We have five
modes. Visual, Aural or Audio,
Gestural, Linguistic and Spatial.

The Five Modes

The visual mode refers to
the images and
characters that people
see. (e.g., color, vectors
and viewpoint in still and
moving images.

Now, let’s hear the work of (Group 3 will present
Makakalikasan group? their work)
Excellent! Let’s give them 6-1 (Students will clap their
clap! hands five times)
How about the last group? (Group 4 will present
their work)
Wow! Let’s give them 4+1 clap! (Students will clap their
