Tanpoco and sir mau, for my culminating

activity of my internship, ill be doing a short presentation about the
skills and values I have gained from my time at VST.

So firstly, about the company, VST ECS Philippines incorporated is one of

the largest ICT distributors in the Philippines. Their business model sells
to other businesses rather than selling directly to consumers. This
involves a lot of communication with other businesses as well. What
the company has taught that it takes care of their customers. They don’t
simply sell their stock to them and end communication with them.
Rather they also help them grow by advertising the products they carry,
and also by setting up events to expand the network of IT executives in
the Philippines.

So what work have I done at the company? My responsibilities at the

VST ECS revolved mainly around Digital Marketing and Events
Management, more specifically, I was given tasks such as Searching for
events places, hotel rooms, and flights, Finding voice talents, Posting
Facebook Ads, Script writing, producing Transmittal receipts and others.
These duties helped me better understand the business model of VST
ECS by giving me practical knowledge on how businesses interact with
the marketing department.

Knowledge and skills learned. I got to understand their business model

which was new to me since I had no prior experience studying a
company that didn’t conduct business directly with the consumers. I
had the opportunity to experience how their marketing and
communications department properly mounts an event. From the
beginning to even after the event concluded. I gained valuable insights
to how the company handles researching and gathering information
about possible events places and hotels by reviewing the requirements
of the events and double checking with possible venues if they can
meet all the requirements. The internship also taught me how to source
and evaluate voice talents and how to choose ones that might be a
good fit for the company. It also taught me the importance of social
media marketing and how useful it can be to my career. Advertising can
bring in a lot of sales leads for the company but can also cost a lot of
money, the statistical data from Facebook really taught me how
effective some ads were and what can be done to reach more people. I
also gained the value of organization because when youre handling a lot
of information, it becomes important that you organize your things and
also your thoughts so that you know where to find the needed
information when youre working on something.
