1. PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OSERVATIONS

Previous Knowledge

 The students have learned the steps to drawing a curve in isometric

 They can draw freehand neatly.
 They can use a compass properly without it slipping on the paper.

Previous Skills

 Using a compass
 Projecting lines at 30*
 Can complete an isometric question
 Can attempt an isomeric question with a curve

Teacher Observations

 The students progressed really well in the class and got a lot of work done. They have the
basis of their poster made and ready to go for todays lesson. The Ukranian students got one
question complete which is good progress as it shows he is understanding what is happening
in class.

2. LESSON RATIONALE

Brief outline of WHY this content is the basis of the lesson, and why these teaching KEY*
methodologies were selected- a justification.

 Recap the previous lesson to ensure the students have retained the knowledge. This RL
will bring them up to speed and help todays lesson run smoother. I need the
students to remember the main steps of how to draw a curve from the last class so
that they can move on in todays class and also complete the poster.
 The main focus for todays lesson is going to be around completing the poster to
ensure that they have something to reference when we move on to more difficult
questions. The poster will also give the students time to bond and plan together
which creates a good atmosphere amongst the group. RL
 The students will select two people to present the poster, we will then put the
poster up somewhere in the room, somewhere where everyone can see and
reference back to, this will improve the students presenting skills. RL
 Now that the poster is up the students can move on to a question that has two
curves to finish the lesson, this will test them and if they don’t get it completed we
can come back to it in the next class.

7. REFLECTION ON THE LESSON (LESSON APPRAISAL)

Q1. What went well in this lesson today, and why? (1 short paragraph or 3-4 bullets)

 All students entered the room appropriately and took their seats mannerly. This helped
the class start off well and provided a more relaxed atmosphere.
 Everyone was keen to finish the poster and worked well during the class. I was happy to
see the students engaging with me if an issue arose by asking questions.
 The students provided a good team effort today which made the class very enjoyable
for everyone. They all returned the exit cards and seemed happy with how the lesson
had went.
 Their attention to detail was impressive and I was glad to see this as it shows they have
listened to the criteria.

Q.2 What did not go as well as expected in this lesson today, and why? (1 short paragraph or 3-4
bullets)

 When exiting the class a few students were a little loud. I think this was coming from
having done well and engaging as a class, they were in high spirits.
 I will make sure that all students are listening during the presentation as this is only
mannerly to the others.
 Make sure all T squares and packs are placed back in the cupboard and the room is as
we found it. It helps the next class run smoother as well.

Q. 3. What might I have done to improve the standard of this lesson? (1 short paragraph or 3-4
bullets)

 I will remind the students that other classes are going on next door and although our
class may be finishing up they need to remain quiet and respective to others.
 I will be more encouraging to the quieter members of the class so as to allow them to
feel more comfortable when speaking in front of the class
 I would have liked to have more work done in question 2. I must keep a better eye on
my timekeeping in this area.

Q. 4 What must I take note of from this lesson that I need to consider when planning the next
lesson? (1 short paragraph of 3-4 bullets)

 Once again I will show the students on how to enter and exit the classrooom in an
orderly fashion.
 I will brief the students on what we achieved in this lesson and how well they worked as
part of a team.
 I will take on board any comments the students have made in the exit cards and apply
them in our next class. I find this shows the students that as a teacher I listen to any
difficulties they have and am willing to engage with them.
