HELP NEEDED: caterpillar m313D wheeled excavator travel power very low

Hi,

I am looking for some or any help with my 2009 caterpillar m313D wheeled excavator, serial number catm313djw3h00836.
the machine has very little to no power to the travel wheels in either hi or low speed but is digging fine or maybe a little slow on the stick speed.

So far, I have replaced the travel motor, the clutch packs in the transmission, replaced the upper swivel seals, and swapped out almost every solenoid

Joined: Oct 5, 2009 I have cat et and it is showing no faults, it will complete all calibrations except the main pump calibration when it comes to the final part of the
Messages: 15 calibration using the travel wheels to set main pump torque it fails the calibration and says out of calibration.
Location: ireland

The pilot pressure is fine but the main pump pressure is a little low around 4600psi should be 5076psi.
The test port on the travel motor for the displacement pressure seems to not be steady and falls off when you load the travel motor up.

The cooling fan seems also to not be correct on start up when cold it speeds up to full speed and then slows down maybe 5/6 times after been
started but works fine during operation.

I am now thinking it maybe a ecm problem?

I would appreciate any help thanks.

Hi have you checked your travel circuit bypass valve

I have checked the hi speed bypass valve is this the Same one?

this is a different valve it is used for soft start to prevent harsh engagement pictures below
also check your creeper button is not faulty .this can cause the hydo motor to stroke up giving low speed

Thanks for the drawings they are a big help as I don't have access to sis.
Creeper button seems to be working fine.

but the hyd motor definitely feels like it is stroked up it has no torque on take off it will get up to max speed when going down hill.

I think you maybe Correct with the problem being with the travel bypass valve I am going to look into this next.

hi ,what was the reasoning behind the change out of the travel motor and the clutch pack rebuild? mechanical failure? ,leaks?

Hi
I replaced these thinking my problem was with one of these.

When you press the travel pedal In either forward or reverse to move the machine the engine sounds like the hyd pump is putting the load on the
engine as it should but the machine feels the very same as a clutch slipping on take off.
It will move along in low gear but not at full speed and has low torque climbing a hill
a sinnott when you use hi gear it will not take off unless on flat level ground and very slowly even then the hyd pump still sounds like it's loaded but the power

is not going to the travel motor which now sounds like the bypass valve is bleeding off the pressure.

Swaped out the bypass prv solinoid today and the machine is still the same.
I also capped off the forward and reverse line to eliminate the valve still the same.

Hellow,
Have you maybe fixed this problem. I Have the same problem with volvo ew140 2000year. Forward symptoms are the same as yours but reverse is a
litle better, But not as it should be.

우리 국가에서도 이 같은 문제로 해결을 하지 못합니다. 서비스맨은 메인콘트롤을 바꾸라고 합니다. 모든것을 교체해보았지만 메인콘트롤 교체후 정
상으로 되었습니다. 아직도 문제점을 정확히 확인을 못합니다. 주행토크가 낮을때 붐, 암, 도져 블레이드, 같은것을 같이 작동하여 승압을 하면 주행 토
크가 정상이 됩니다. 유압 pst가 제대로 작동하지 않는것 같은데 무엇을 수리해야할지 알지 못합니다.

I suggest you may be looking in the wrong place, its known that rubber ducks burn high power when travelling hence high fuel consumption. If by
any chance your motor is leaking oil and blowing sump smoke it is a fair bet that it cannot pull a fly of a rice pudding. I wont mention the make but
for sure you have a green & black (Oil) in that Volvo.

Per Eriksson Your problem most likely is that the travel function compensator spool bore is worn in the main valve body so that the travel function alone is not

creating enough ls signal pressure but with one more function ls signal pressure is raised and the pump upstrokes.

Messages: 643 The compensator spool can be drilled to increase the flow into the ls signal passage and in most cases that helps so that the main valve doesn't need

에릭슨 선생님. 표시한 저 부분에 스풀을 말씀하시는 건가요? 유압유온도가 오르기 전에는 정상작동하다 유압유 온도가 상승하면 다른 동작을 해서 유
압펌프에 신호를 줘야 정상작동합니다.

Yes, thats the compensator spool, 1 for each function.

답변 감사드립니다. 전진 후진 동일하게 주행 토크가 약해 지니까 스풀 앞쪽에 두개의 스풀을 다 확장해야하는 겁니까? 그리고 스풀을 신품으로 교체
하면 토크가 올라가지는 않을까요?

It's the same compensator for both forward and back travel so only this one on the front of the valve body.
So start by modifying that and check if it helps, if not there are more things to try.
