    THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA FOR STUDENTS

    Social media has important roles for student. Social media has developed into a crucial
    instrument for education as well as for marketing and communication. Numerous educational
    institutions were forced to close during the COVID-19 lockdown, leaving social media as the primary
    platform for student interaction. Social media gives students a platform to share their knowledge and
    establish credibility in their own field of interest or specialty area. In an online community, they can also
    get knowledge and insights from people who have done similar research or have been in their position.
    Social media use can distract students, interfere with their sleep, expose them to bullying, rumors,
    unrealistic expectations of other people’s life, and peer pressure, among other harmful effects. The
    dangers might be tied to how frequently students use social media. However, if students’ use of social
    media is still under control, students will get broader insights and experiences that are rarely given from
    schools.
