Afterwards, they will share their insights about the differences between the
two.
B. Establishing a WHICH PART?
purpose for the The students will be asked to think of one organ in the human body to which
lesson they can relate the words memory and storage.
1. How are memory and storage similar to this part of the body? How
are the different?
2. Which do you think is better? Why do you say so?
C. Presenting HOW IT WORKS
examples/
instances of the
new lesson
A video showing how computer memory and storage work will be presented
to the class. They will answer the following questions afterwards.
1. What are the new concepts or terminologies that you have inferred
from the video?
2. What are the different examples of short-term memory and long-term
memory?
3. Based on the video watched, is computer memory stable and
permanent? Why or why not?

A. Reviewing MEMORY CARD GAME
previous lesson or
presenting a new
lesson
A set of cards with matching pictures of the previously discussed topic will be
posted on the board. The students will be divided into two teams, alternately,
each will be given a chance to flip two cards at a time. They would have to be
able to find and flip the two matching cards at each go, if not, they would flip

the cards over. The game ends after the 15-minute time duration and the team
that has the greatest number of matching cards flipped wins.
B. Establishing a JUST GIVE ME A
purpose for the
lesson

One of the basic computer skills a person must have is the understanding of
the basic computer hardware; HARDRIVE, CPU AND MEMORY. Why do
you think is this?
C. Presenting CHOOSY
examples/
instances of the
new lesson

Samples of device specifications will be flashed on the screen. The students

will be asked to analyze and decide which specification will be best in regard
to performance among the ones shown.
D. Discussing new MIMICRY
concepts and
practicing new
skills #1

E. Discussing new A video presentation about the different ways on how to check or see the
concepts and computer specifications will be shown to the class. The students will be
practicing new skills divided into four groups and after the video is watched, they will be asked to
#2 write down and demonstrate the procedure that will be assigned to them.
Group Assignments:
Group 1 – First Procedure (WINDOWS SYSTEM SETTINGS)
Group 2 – Second Procedure (SYSTEM INFORMATION)
Group 3 – Third Procedure (PROMPT COMMAND)
Group 4 – Fourth Procedure (CTRL+ALT+DELETE)

(The teacher will discuss the lesson on Understanding Computer

Specification using a slide deck presentation)
F. Developing

(PERFORMANCE TASK 1)
Using the same groupings, the students will perform obtaining of
computer/laptop specifications by filling in the needed information on the
table below:
Device Information Specification/s
Operating System
Model
Processor
Memory/RAM
Data Storage Capacity
**outputs should be submitted individually

concepts and You achieved excellent grades in the recent grading period and because of
this your parents would like to give you a reward of your choice. Applying
skills in daily
the learned concepts for the lesson discussed, what would this reward be
living specifically?
H. Making PROCESS FLOW AND ITS IMPORTANCE
generalization The students will be asked to pick the easiest and fastest procedure for them
and abstractions among the four ways on how to obtain device specification. They will be
asked to recite these steps into the class and have them give a reason as to
about the lesson
why they think knowing such things will help them as a CSS student.
D. Evaluating PERFORMANCE TASK CRITERIA
learning The student will be graded based on the criteria below:
CRITERIA HPS SCORE
Obtained correct and complete information of 50
specifications required
Followed correct procedure in checking and 30
obtaining specifications
Submitted output is neat and free of erasures and/or 10
crumpling. Instructions for format were followed
Demonstrated teamwork and proper behavior while 10
performing the task
TOTAL 100
J. Additional EXPLORING BUDDIES
activities for
application or
remediation
The students will pair up and do an exploration to create comparisons of at
least three laptops or computers that they can get their hands on. The table for
the performance activity can be used as the format for comparison.
