1. Preparation
 Inform to operator that work will be start.
 Prepare the necessary document, i.e: SOP, Manual book, drawing,
logic. Etc.
 Prepare safety equipment (PPE) ,i.e: Helmet, Safety Shoes, Safety glasses, Safety
belt or body hardness, Mask and gloves.
 Prepare safety equipment for woks place,i.e : Safety line , Tagging
 Ensure overhead crane can be used and operated by certify operator.
 Prepare the necessary parts, tools and equipment before commencing actual work,
ie: Lifting Tools (chain blocks, shackles and wire sling, nylon sling etc), Ordinary
hand tools (Pipe wrench, combination wrench set & socket set, Slogging wrench,
Allen key, wire brush, scraper), Special Tools refer to manual if any, Spare parts if
needed, Consumable material, etc.
 Technician (Competen Person) open document for Permit To Work (PTW) and
Authorized leader has been issuing the PTW Document.
 Coordinate with electrical department to disconnect cable power, vibration
monitor and thermocouples before starting disassemble work

2. Safety Checking
 Ensure the permit to works ( PTW) is available and the equipment is isolated
before comencing the work,i.e :
 Ensure the breaker was off & tagging has been installed
 Ensure the valve inlet & outlet has been close& tagging has been installed.

 Ensure the equipment has been install the safety line around the workplace .
Note! Any persons except the authorized staffs are not permitted to approach the
equipment during inspection.
3. Diassembly works
 Prior to disassembly, each part should be marked for alignment for use at
reassembly
 The pump should be broken down in accordance with each disassembly drawing
and procedure
Follow the Pocedure for overhaul of Condensate Extraction pump , refer to
IO&M manual pages 96 .
 Arrange the dismantled parts with neat on the suitable place.
 Clean all parts of any dirt and other foreign matter.

4. Checks and measurements

 Clean all parts and inspect for wear or damage, giving particular attention to the
following:
 During disassembly, every part should be checked for any abnormality.
 The present condition of a part (prior to cleaning) should be checked and
photographed or recorded as necessary
 Measure and record part before replace
Inspection Item :
 Casing parts :
Inspect erotion or crack
Inspect abnormal abration, galling and others on sliding surface of the casing
ring, bushing , bearing and other
 Rotor Parts
Inspect an abnormal abrasion, erosion, and crack on sliding surface of the shaft,
impeller, sleeve and other sliding parts
 The measurement of clearance.
Measure each sliding parts clearance with reference to attached list of
INSPECTION RECORD.

An allowable value is in accordance with "List of clearance at sliding parts". Change a

part which over the allowable value.
 The measurements of shaft run out.

Measure the shaft run out by utilizing V blocks and a dial indicator.

OF SHAFT”

5. ReAssembly
The pump should be reassembled in accordance with the rules of engineering
practice. The first of the individual components should be coated with graphite or a
similar lubricant before assembly, and the same applies to the threads of screwed
connections. The step by step procedure for complete unit assembly is
done in the reverse order of disassembling (refer to IO&M Manual CEP)
It is necessary to proceed re-assembling work while checking for conformance with
the dimensions recorded at the time of disassembling.

6. Commisioning test
 Inform to operator that works for inspection was finished and needed to run test
to see the perfomance of the pump after internal inspection
 Inform to authorized leader to suspend the PTW Document and normalized all
isolated equipment,i.e: breaker, valve, etc , in order to carried out run test.
 Run test the equipment.

7. Monitoring during operation ( Running inspection )

 Check the level oil and check the leakage if occurs.
 Check and measure the vibration------------Less than specified value ?
 Check abnormal noise ---------------------- No abnormal sounds?
 Check the leakage of gland packing-------- Acceptable lekage ?
 Check the temperature of bearing -----------Less than 75 degC
 Check the Suction and discharger pressure-------- Specified value?
 Check leakage all connection pipe--------Any leakage?
 Check all tightening of bolt ---------Any loosen bolt?
 If all parameter of the equipment/pump is normal, inform to authorized leader to
close PTW document and remove all tagging and safety line.
